Good screen recorder for Tales?

Hey guys,
I've decided to start a video walkthrough of Tales of monkey island (I might do the first four aswell, but dont worry-if i do i wont do that 4 year old sounding voice over thing cause by a bad mic again). (If u don't know what I mean, look up MtWaverlyProductions on youtube, which is my account, and you'll see what I mean-it sucks.)

I've seen a lot of good video walkthroughs, such as the one by xAeternax and thizked. Can anyone suggest a good screen recorder that can record tales (other than fraps-too big file size)?

If the file size is the only problem with Fraps, I know of an excellent video encoder that should be able to get the file size down for YouTube. There's only ever been one instance where I've had a video file that it couldn't convert into any format I could think of. Unfortunately, that's the best I can do. I don't know anything about video capture.

    It's called SUPER. http://www.erightsoft.com/SUPER.html

The download link is a little difficult to find for some people, so I'll do my best to point you to it. I'd just give you the straight download link, but that never seems to work for some reason.

On the first page, scroll to the bottom and look for this link.

On the second page, look for this link near the top.

On the third page, the link is near the bottom again.

Good luck, I hope it works out for what you want.

Thanx. You're a life saver. Now, which option should i choose-mux, demux or join format? Or do i shoose the other option? I'll show you what i mean in the attatched photo.

I'm afraid I don't see that in the screenshot, and I don't recognize those options. Could you describe where you're seeing it?

Well, what I'm seeing is the encoder, asking me to put the multimedia into the slot. I put The intro to tales vid in there, clicked encode, and it comes up with an error. Something to do with directShow or something with ActiveX.

Cam Studio is free isn't it? You have to pay with Fraps. That seems stupid to me. Paying for a program that just records video output from a game. Not worth it.

Why spoil the game for someone who could pay/support-Telltale to play the game?

You may be better off going with a different recorder. Or you could find a video on YouTube that you know was recorded with Fraps and send the person who posted it a PM asking how they got it posted to YouTube. If you still want to go this route, you may want to try checking the DirectShow box near the top or installing the Combined Community Codec Pack and see if that helps at all.

Ok, thanx. I'm trying out AVS video converter to see if that does anything. If not, I'm pretty sure there is a vid of Escape that was fraps recorded. I'll try asking them.

Ok, i just got VirtualDub, but how do I go about compressing the video? Can any VirtualDub users point me in the right direction?

Ok. I'v managed to upload 2 vids so far (MtWaverlyProductions) and now youtube is saying its against copyright or something. If i've done something wrong, please let me know, telltale. I've seen heaps of video walkthroughs on the net, and i dont know why this is happening.
