Top 10 Lucasarts adventure games

Just found this from one of the game sites I visit daily. Can't believe none of the Monkey Island titles are top of the list. What do you guys think is the best?

The list is in no particular order.

I don't know, all those games are really good. And I mean REALLY good.

The thing that bugs me the most about this article was this:

"...being reintroduced to a new audience thanks to Telltale's recent remake of The Secret of Monkey Island. "

    Sloppy journalism tbh.

    Sloppy journalism tbh.

I thought IGN stood for Ignorant Goon News

    Also:
This one had great replay value since the story played out differently depending on which two characters you chose.

    ...two?

    The third character is fixed.

Oh right, I forgot about that. Then again I've never actually completed the game.

There is no "top" of the list, since they're just listed by the year they came out.

Rather than rank these from best to super-best, we've laid them out our faves chronologically. We just couldn't bring ourselves to rank one higher than another. But if you've got the guts to do that, make sure to vote in our poll above.

Also, this list doesn't really say much at all, does it? I mean, they didn't really make that many more adventures than this. I'm just glad that Curse didn't make the list, really, and that the original Maniac Mansion got a mention...

...But seriously. This "Top Ten LucasArts Games" list is like a "Top Four Star Wars Movies, listed by year of release" list.

Grim Fandango was amazing, I approve...

Actually, no. You could click on the first character (I don't remember the name) and deselect him. =)

Nope, Dave is ALWAYS in the game... since it's his girlfriend that got kidnapped.

Er... There were six Star Wars movies. (Ten if you count the Holiday Special, the Ewok movies, and the Clone Wars movie)

He's referring to the fact that they're doing a top ten of a category that only includes fourteen titles.

Ah, OK. That makes a bit more sense. :p

Chronologically seems like a weird way to do things.

I hate the kind of whorey way they do this to tie in with a D2D promotion, too. I get frustrated at how they tend to plan their features around promotions and advertising. I have a lot of great articles I'd like to do for them, but I get stuck writing something to tie in with their big Terminator blowout because they bought a lot of advertising, or writing about Survival Horror because some horror movie is sponsoring "13 days of Halloween."

But of course I understand why they do it, and that's where my paychecks come from. I guess I really wish there was more demand for smarter content.

That said, I'll totally buy Armed and Dangerous for $5.

If only 10 can make the list i would probably quit "..last crusade" and add The Dig.

I'd have done the same thing. :)

I'm also a little surprised Curse of Monkey Island isn't there. That'd definitely have to be in my top 10 too. But it must be difficult trying to figure out the top 10 LucasArts adventures, when there are only a few more than that. I'm yet to find a disappointing LucasArts classic.

why isn't curse of monkey island on the list? Curse of monkey island is my all time favorite adventure game.

    you mean like this:

    A New Hope
    The Empire Strikes Back
    Return of the Jedi
The Phantom Men... eeerr The Revenge of the Sith

I cant choose Monkey island or Grim Fandango, these 2 were the best games ever made.

Lechuck's Revenge along with Fate of Atlantis will always be my No 1 and 2 :)

I can't see any adventure game ever unseating Indiana Jones and the Fate of Atlantis really.

Unless Lucasarts get Hal Barwood to make another.

The Dig is the worst, it had so many annoying puzzles and at the time it was one of the most hyped games ever and failed to meet expectations.

Curse is the one that's missing from the list and while I love Grim Fandango, I don't see how it can top MI's and DOTT. Full Throttle is also overrated, but the graphics and the voice acting is top-notch.
