Muzzled: Obtaining the Crank

I got the lever and gave a dog a teddy bear. I keep trying to get the crank from a dog but once I placed it, he takes it back. Any hints? :confused:

EDIT: Too late! My brother might've already helped me, but I might use this thread to put more of my episodic problems.

    Maybe you could "alter" the color
    Solutuion
    dip the crank into the paint on a table next to the car
