    More like they're preventing piracy.

It's too easy to use the serial keys with the demos.

Why do you want a demo of these 3 games anyway? I mean, muzzled was free awhile ago, and they're pretty cheap anway, especially with the Monkey Island Treasure Hunt 50% off coupon.

They're not preventing piracy at all. Even if people who wanted to pirate the games actually DID want to use Telltale's system for some inane reason, the client download itself isn't "protected" at all. The download links are pretty simple and not at all individual.

    Like so.

I doubt that's their goal here. My guess is that they're going for angling their sales pitch towards buying seasons rather than buying episodes.

You know a company get's lazy when their download link is not protected. Lucky I'm nice enough not to take all of your episodes for free:p(or I just have bought all of your games minus wallace and gromit 1, 2, 4, bone, and csi:p) but seriously you might want to lock that or else you guys will go bankrupt.
    but

You can't play them, when you open it all it does is say input serial number. It's basically the stomach without the food.

And to get the serial number, you must buy the game. Ok telltale I'll let you off the hook, THIS time.

Yeah, exactly. I wouldn't have posted them if I'd thought it really posed any threat at all.
