Season 2 of ToMI?

edited December 2009 in Tales of Monkey Island
Hey everybody,

I see that the next episode of ToMI is the "Season finale" and I just have to ask: Does this mean that there'll be more episodes after this??

Sincerely,
Regve

Nothing has been confirmed yet. However, as I understand it, TMI has been the most successful game TTG ever did, so if they can work out another deal with Lucasarts, I'm sure they'll do another episodic Monkey Island at some point.

somewhere in between 2010 an 2048. Or 2046.... not sure about it.

Dude, in 2012 we'll all cross to another dimension... Sooo, maybe we can then IMAGINE a second season and it will APPEAR!

We'd still have to give money to Telltale. It's polite.

Nah, we wouldn't have money. We'd give them like, karma points or something like that.

Maybe at the end of Chapter 5 there's a "next tales" promo video.

Or perhaps simply another cliffhanger, with a "To be continued in Season 2" at the end. That would be great... despite the torture of having to wait a year or more for the resolution. (But we're Monkey Island fans, right? A patient people... unless it's the day an episode gets released. Then we're an excitable bunch.)

Thanks for the quick replies guys.

Oh well, yeah, we can only hope they'll reveal something soon enough. :)

We've waited ten years, we can wait for one year for a (hopeful) season 2.

Soon enough...as in TOMORROW? :D At the end of the credits for "Season 1". Otherwise I think if not then, something might creep up in the DVD special features that would shed some light on that subject. Which from what I understand probably won't be out for about 6 months time.

Well, March will be an exciting time for MI fans...

I'd love to see Telltale do more..

but then again, part of the reason I was so excited about Tales when it was announced, was because it's been so long since we had any Monkey Island. Going right into another season of it would ruin that a bit. (Similar to how the announcement of Fable 3 almost directly after the second is a little.. blah)

I'd rather see them do a third season of Sam & Max first, or even something entirely new.

I think it's almost certain that S&M3 (and probably other title(s) will come before a potential ToMI2.

That would be terrible! I want to see everything wrapped up at the end - a cliffhanger would feel incredibly cheap and unfulfilling.

I would still love to see a second season in a year or two though. :)

Wait, you're expecting a FULFILLING ending from a Monkey Island sequel? :p

Does this mean that somewhere, someplace, Season 2 is already out?

haha... what can you do except cling to the hope that mankind is not doomed to repeat past mistakes? :D

Yeah, I would be kinda pissed off if it ended in a cliffhanger. I want closure AND my 2nd season. After I get that the Queen can have her cake, and eat it too.

Depending on the cliffhanger, I can more than live with it. As long as it's not a cliffhanger like the Escape ending. ;)

I want Sam and Max, and a new IP. I understand a lot of new guys here think of Telltale as the Tales guys now, but they did and have a chance to do more. And "Season Finale" only means the season is ending. Doesn't mean the series isn't going to get the boot for various reasons, especially considering the licensing with LucasArts that is required for a new Monkey Island.

It's not that I wouldn't like to see Guybrush again, sometime, but Tales is leaving me...satisfied. If these past five episodes was the last we saw of Guybrush, I wouldn't be too disappointed.

    I wouldn't either.

There'll be a Sam and Max first, but I think that for as long as TTG make adventure games they'll be making MI games. They draw a huge number of die-hard fans and get more exposure than any other games in their range. There's no question for me whether we get a season 2, the question is..WHEN?
