ToMI DVD

Hello,

I was wondering when we will receive the DVD of the whole game at our house?

Especially those who are in Europe, how will it work?

The press release says "soon" but my experience is that it's usually a couple months.

It's gonna be awhile. Certainly not before Christmas.

I just had a thought, I bet Steams users won't be able to qualify for the DVD. :(

    Not for free, no.

Anyone who didn't buy ToMI directly from TT will have to purchase the DVD once it's released if they want it.
  • That's why you don't use steam. The other reason being that steam is evil. :P

I have a totally different question... ToMI DVD related though

I reaaalllyy hope that the ToMI DVD will play as one large game (one small install, game data read off DVD) and we're not just gonna be stuck with a DVD full of installers or forced to choose an episode from some lame autorun.exe

No, I reeeaalllyy want to be able to continue to the next episode directly after finishing the one before that next episode...(which would be the current episode... wait no... the current episode would be episode 5... aw screw it, you catch my drift)

Anyway, this turned out to be more of a request than a question... So to rephrase this request as a question:

Developers, can we please have the episodes on the DVD install and play as one large game?

There's a thread on this. It would be great but a lot of work from Telltale.

No? Pretty much you'll get it as if you downloaded it, with some extra stuff...all the DVD's are like that...personally I dont care either way...

I think a good (and maybe easy for Telltale to implement) way will be adding a "Launch next episode" button on each chapter's menu. Perhaps in the wooden thing they used for the Treasure Hunt button in Chapter One. That button will be active after the chapter is finished.
So you can play an episode, and when it's over, you return to the main menu and you can launch the next episode without having to close the game, return to Windows, open the next game, etc...

Other suitable ways to do it may be:
    * The autorun launcher with the buttons to launch each chapter don't close while the game is running, so when you exit the game it's still there and you can instantly choose the next chapter. This may not be the best idea, because having programs running on the background can affect the performance of the game.
    * The autorun launcher with the buttons to launch each chapter opens automatically when you exit the game, so you can instantly choose the next chapter.

You'll have to order it via the Telltale store, and if you have something that has to be physically shipped in your cart you'll be asked for the shipping address, just like you'll be asked for your credit card data for the shipping costs...

At least that's been the deal for the last few full season DVD deals, and I wouldn't know what to change in that... :)

How do I do to get it now? Just wait and I'll eventually receive it in my box? The shipping is already paid, no?

You can't get it now. It will probably be a few months before it is released. When it is released it'll be announced on the site and in the newsletter.

If you already bought the season, then the DVD itself will be free. You will have to pay for shipping, however.

No. What you paid for was the download of all five episodes, the shipping is extra - and I can't blame them, shipping costs vary widely depending on where in the world you're located.

But since shipping to Europe is less than 10 USD it's no big deal IMHO.

10 USD?! Meh, I hope there's more than the setup files for this price.
