Steam Release

Although most of you have already had the chance to download the game, those of us who have it on Steam are still waiting. Who is still waiting?

I am, I am still extremely anxious and hope they put it up soon, just as anxious as I was for the release yesterday and trying desperately not to click on the spoiler threads.

Who is with me?

Lets just hope its not until very late like it was yesterday for everyone who already got it.

My thanks and gratitude to Telltale for making such a great game and reviving a game that most of us had either given up hope for or waited several long years for. So, thanks for bringing it back, and most of all for making it good.

The game was "late" yesterday because they were doing tweaking and refining right down to the wire. Now that the game is basically "ready to ship", it's really just up to Steam to take care of it now. I'm sure you'll see it really soon.

Yeah i'm still waiting for it. Never again am I buying something like this on Steam. I'll get it straight from TT next time.

I'm hoping we get it soon though, as seeing the topic titles on here (as I dont open certian ones) saying how good it is, makes me want it more.

I can't really say I mind. No real hurry to end the season. It's not like there's a competition on to see who can finish the game first and post spoilers on the forums.

    Oh, erm, hmmm.

People apparently will make even the most non-competitive games competitive I suppose.

I totally blame TTG. If they weren't going to release it on time (which is bad enough for itself), they should have delayed it for one more day so everyone would get it pratically at the same time. Steam users paid the same as everyone else for the game. This is just ridiculous.

nah, i just bought the game from TTG as an individual , its worth it, consider it as a support for the telltale game, they have been working their arses off to release it you know :D

I am going to post this picture one final time:

Waiting an additional 6-12 hours is not going to make the game any less brilliant. The patience & anxiety of 'zomg when is it coming!' is part of the hype for episodic games. Having another deployment channel such as Steam should not force TTG to start adapting to it. Afaik their goal was to ship the product when it's done & polished, and they did their best to do just that.

    My two cents.

Yeah cus Valve have such a good record at releasing stuff on time. It's likely whatever time TTG released it you would have to wait before it was released on Steam.

So if you're getting the game late, everybody should?

As long as the game isn't delivered after closing time, they're fast. I never waited more than one hour for the other 4 chapters to be available on Steam. The 4th chapter actually took 20 mins.

Hey, by that logic, everybody should wait until the EUROPEAN WIIWARE RELEASE OF CHAPTER 5. Yeah, that would totally work, seeing as WE DON'T EVEN HAVE CHAPTER FOUR.

PC is not the same as Wii.

What he means is that Wii players have to wait even longer than Steam users ever have had to.

THINK OF THE CONSOLE PLAYERS :(

Wii and Xbox chapters of games are slow slow slow to get into their respective systems from what I've seen. Steam users have nothing to complain about. Srsly.

It's still BS, and it's the very same logic. Hell, the SBCG4AP games used to be released simultaneously with the American WiiWare release, or at least very close to.

Thing is, if Telltale Games has to accommodate to some off-site service they have no control over just because some whiny kids want simultaneous releases, they could just as well solely sell it trough that.

sod the console players :P they've retarded so many essentially good PC games it's not even funny.

on another note completely, i didnt realise you could buy the game direct from TTG (i've seen the 'buy' button, but presumed it linked to steam!).
im still waiting for ch5 on steam :( wish there was some official info on this.
im sure it's very close, but it's getting on a full day after TTG give the afternoon PST release date. im sure they've been polishing it, but TTG purchasers have had it for a while so surely they cant still be fixing the steam release? cant take 24h to upload the content to steam

i see lots of this "outside of our control", but surely dev houses have steam logins so they can edit, patch, and update their own content? ie: they are not soley limited to steams' support?

btw, im not blaming either company - just asking questions! :)

Official line: "we expect it to be up early tomorrow morning in our partner services" (i.e. they've submitted it and Valve/IGN hasn't released it yet)

This makes me so sad... I really want to play it

Im not gunna get angry or anything and blame steam or blame telltale, or suggest it should have been delayed for everyone else too.

    Im just gunna get sad...

I am waiting in Steam too...

I have no problems waiting extra even while some people are playing it right now but ... I hate it when there is no exact timing of release (e.g. a countdown appears before 24 hours of the game release). Otherwise, I will just keep my finger rapidly pushing F5 until I see it released.

I hope TTG create new releasing strategy in the future and deliver the game in an exact hour.

and for those who got their game early, enjoy the last chapter and hope it does not disappoint :D

The full package has been available since July.

They have just added ep5 to new releases so i'd say its coming in the next 20-40 mins.

I'm also waiting for the release on steam. I don't think we should be dissing TTG for the delay, they just do what they got to do to deliver a great game, and if Valve are slow with the steam release, it's valve's fault.

However, TTG could surely have told us steam buyers about this beforehand. I waited up until 5 o'clock in the morning for the release, and I know that I would have been very grateful for just a tiny notice that stated something like: "The steam edition probably won't be up until tomorrow, so for all those who bought the game on steam, don't wait up!"

    I second that.

We European Wii owners are still waiting for Chapter 4 on WiiWare. I think Steam users are too picky for a few hours of delay.

Yes, and had i lived in America it wouldn't have been a prob for me, but seeing as I live in Norway, the time was already 5 in the morning, and I had already waited for 6 hours :p

Anyhow, the game is out on steam aswell now, and so I'll stop my whining :P

And also, you should really take all the whining as a huge compliment! It just means that everyone loves your game! :D
