Loom?

*chapter 5 and loom spoilers ahoy*

I don't know about anyone else but
when the rips appeared between the land of the living and the dead, it just screamed Loom to me.
I mean, at the end of Loom where you go between the rips in the fabric of time/reality visiting areas of the game you have been to, meeting characters and so forth.
Seems as though it could be a big nod towards it if nothing else
