It depends, LucasArts may decide to have telltale do it, or they may do it themselves.
But I'm sure there is somthing special.

Me, too! Me, too! Except I was 10ish... but yea. Me, too!

Maybe the success was so great they can't say no? :D

Of course, I had been randomly typing in "new Monkey Island game" in the search engine for years and before I randomly found out about because of that habit. So hopefully enough people heard about it!

    Thank you, Telltale! :winslow:

Ahhhh... Grim Fandango. What a sad ending for such a great game. Full Throttle was fun, too, good music. But Grim Fandango was just such a neat world, great characters... ahhh. The pain. :p

Maybe Telltale could pick that up, too! ;)

Maybe, but if they did they'd have to come up with something totally original. Manny and Meche could not come back, otherwise the game would jump the shark before it even began. Really, most of the memorable characters either died or passed on. I mean, I guess we still have Glottis, but for the most part we'd need an entirely new ensemble.

Too bad, too. I loved Tony Plana's voice as the main character, but having someone else who happens to sound exactly like Manny Calavera wouldn't work either.

I don't feel a sequel is needed but if there ever was one, I really don't think that the absence of Manny would be much of a problem. I mean, Tim Schafer literally created a whole land of locations and characters, the vast majority of which we have never even seen. I could imagine playing as a skeletal detective in a film-noir kind of tale or some such.

I've said it before, but as much as I love Monkey Island, and as much as I'd like to see Telltale work on another one, it definitely doesn't need to happen anytime soon. I'd hate to become tired of them and Tales has created a far better cap to the series than Escape did.

After the next Sam & Max, I'd like to see Telltale work on something else. Perhaps return to Monkey Island in a couple of years.

Wait- am I losing it? Manny still had to go save Meche at the end of the game, right? It wasn't just over- it was set up for a two-parter. Maybe it's been too long... my memory has never been good. :o Manny needs a new girl anyway. Meche was too goodygoody. :P

Yeah, Telltale should do Full Throttle 2, then Tales of Monkey Island 2.

    I'd cry.

ToMI wraps up the LeChuck vs. Guybrush story pretty well.

So, if there were to be another season, I could see TTG creating a new villain for Guybrush, or using a different hero (e.g. Morgan) with a new villain.

    No chance.
MI is Guybrush v LeChuck. Has to stay that way.

I'm sure there's some way to bring back LeChuck. There always is.

I'm sure there's some way to bring back LeChuck. There always is.

...and Telltale will think of a clever way to do so after a well-deserved pause of Monkey Island-ing.

I had my sister over at my place some weeks ago; she last played Monkey Island when CMI came out and hardly has an idea about how the story has developped since then.
When I told her about TOMI, trying to summarize the story (I failed because there was just so much going on *lol*) she was really interested in having a look herself.

What shall I say...I showed her the opening scene of Narwhal, she immediately was fascinated. I played through it, she saw the cliffhanger. When the screen turned back and the credits rolled, I asked her: "Next chapter?" - "YES!" It went that way until chapter 4 (chapter 5 not being released at that time). It was 3 am in the morning when we finished Trial and Execution and she was totally stunned and amazed (and since she has a baby boy at home she's not used to staying up that late, mind you!)

We then had a talk about the "problem" that LeChuck's neverending resurrections, however him being so much part of the story, have become pretty dull. And that it might be nearly impossible to think of a new story including LeChuck being interesting enough to build a new season with. Here's what she said: "Those storyteller's at that company sure are witty and talented. They managed to write such a great new story that had me enter the World of Monkey Island after so many years again - why shouldn't they be able to think of a sequel?"

    I think she's right. :D
