For those whom have finished playing, what do you think?

I'm just curious to know what the majority of opinions are of the Tales series. Do you think it holds up well to the rest of the franchise? Which episode is your favorite? I really enjoyed Episode 3, as I found its puzzles were the most fun.

I'd also like to know which Monkey Island game is your favorite in the franchise (MI, MI LeChucks Revenge, CMI, EMI, TMI ep1-5) ?

I was a bit disappointed, as when I eventually got my Steam download yesterday it took several attempts/downgrade of GFX possibilities to run it.

I then took 4 hours to complete ep 5, most of which time was repetitively wandering through rips-boat destinations.

I missed Le Singe presence also.

I love all of my previous 4 Monkey Island games and this number 5 Monkey-5 chapter TOMI though/happy Old Jamaica Christmas to all.

I was disappointed at the unpolished way the ending was handled. You can feel it was rushed. The problem being I thought having this game as episodic was meant to prevent something like this.

Puzzles were painfully easy to solve. This made this episode feel a lot like one of those visual novel games. You just click the blazingly obvious thing to move forward. The use of a repeat puzzle, specifically the sponge-shrinking one, but making it less than half as challenging, was pretty disappointing too.

Most of all, the way the story was to be tied up. It isn't, no matter what anyone says. It takes the efforts of a forumite to tie up the story into a way that is not just readable, but credible, and even then there are plotholes. An ending where just including some exposition would have helped immensely, is instead relegated to one dialogue option and then credits. It's almost like they ran out of money to pay the voice actors, and had to cut everything short, but instead of taking out flavour text, they decided to remove any reference to the actual plot.

Yeeeee-aaah ... I feel the exact opposite. I loved this episode. I love how the end was an emotional rush. I loved how it really felt like there was something at stake, I wasn't solving the puzzles just for fun, but to see how everything turned out, and I loved that the main story was resolved only to reveal another story was starting in its place. That means I hope there's a season two, of course, but even if there wasn't, I feel glad that the story didn't finish up all neatly tied with a bow and a big "The End" after the credits.

"It held up well to the originals. A fine addition." for me.

the only thing that stopped it getting higher was the difference between MI1+2, and the releases after that - the atmosphere got a bit more cartoony and less 'dark' iykwim.

treating the game on it's own was 10/10 for me. TTG did an excellent job of not destroying MI-series and i hope they get the licence to do another! i cant think of any real letdowns!

i thought tales is a great addition to the series, the last chapter was brilliant, how dark it was, seeing a ghost pirate guybrush was awesome,by the way it ended i hope they do continue the series....it seems the voodoo lady's character is alot more interesting now, and shes got a bigger part to play, i was slighty disappointed that you didnt get to see desinge again in the dead realm....i think it would be funny though to end the episode of zombie guybrush doing Michael Jackson's triller...with a bunch of monkeys around him...now that would be ace :)
