What Dom Armato thought of Rise Of The Pirate God - Alternative Magazine Online
Hey guys!
It is finally here, Alt Mag Online's last interview with Dominic Armato!

I just wanted to say it has been such a pleasure for me to do these interviews and reviews. Your feedback has really helped me grow and adapt as a writer... as I just explained to Dom, I can't imagine doing anything else now. (It is 2.15am here in the UK but couldn't sleep until I got this all posted!)
Thank you all... I would really love to stay in touch as well. Whether that is here, or even if you follow the site's facebook/ twitter/ read some other reviews/ articles... I would really appreciate it. You guys have really encouraged me and I want the site to be even stronger once series 2 rolls up
I'm not going anywhere either, got plenty planned for Telltale's other games... so stay tuned! As always feel free to comment on my site or here, I love hearing what you all think (will be nice to wake up to it all tomorrow!) Hopefully after 5 interviews I have asked Dom every possible question now anyway!

Interesting and indepth. Keep up the good work!
Oh well hopefully Lucasarts will announce the Mi2 remake next march as they've hinted and he'll be back in the role. Of course I'm hoping for Tales season 2, but well next march is sooner so that's the closest thing to look forward to.
Nice to read he enjoyed meeting Ron Gilbert too, seems he finally got the thumbs up from him
Hopefully his enjoyment of them wasn't too diminished.
Just shows his professionalism: he wouldn't answer my questions until he was done... and I gather from our emails the last few days he was being very thorough!
I love the idea of Dom speaking his lines as he plays, or even speaking out loud when stuck/ puzzling away btw
As does Dom.
Well Beekay, you have always written great comments here and on my site after every review/ interview: I wanted to pay you back! And it was a great question, Dom loved it
You rock even more for reading it! Thanks for the kind words.
Looking forward to more martydom (see what I did there?) over the inevitable (I hope) next game(s)
Me too, glad I asked that one! Forgot to ask him if I am now officially the person who has interviewed him most as well... maybe next time?
You should definitely ask him next time
You should also ask him if he will be doing commentaries for the DVD
And you can also add a "cooking/food" section to your site, that way you can interview Dom about food (or make him a permanent part or regular contributor)
I want a 10% cut on all t-shirt and plush toy sales
Deal! I was going to offer 50/50 as well haha!
Long live King Dom!
You sure he actually wants to be interviewed every time in the future?
I'm sure we don't want him to start looking at it as if it's become a hassle.
Did you read the interview? He says he liked doing the interviews serveral times during it (and also has echoed similar sentiments during our regular emails!) I also asked him can we continue them in the future due to their success and he said of course!
He even goes as far as to say: "I’ve always felt that when it comes to Monkey Island, I kind of straddle the fan world and the developer world, and being able to talk about it like this kind of helps me bridge that gap. Let’s just say it’s a good outlet, and hopefully one that some people find interesting."
I doubt interviewing him in 2010/11 once a month again for series 2, or once for LeChucks Revenge SE (fingers crossed) is going to be seen as a hassle. He is a professional and seems to really enjoy the chats. Stop worrying to much! He isn't being hassled and he isn't rushing the games and not enjoying them either!
"Glad this has been so great for your site, Martin! Good luck and with a little luck, we can do this again sometime. – Dom"
Thanks Friar! I feel the same as Dom: pretty bummed out that it's all over!
No hard feelings
Anyways, yeah it was good to hear he seemed to have a nice meeting with Ron Gilbert. I remember reading that he'd really been wanting to hear if Ron liked his work, and judging from this interview and Gilbert's own comments on grumpygamer.com it seems Gilbert likes his performances as much as I'm sure we all do.
And yeah I too am feeling bummed out now that it's over, if only they'd at least announce there will be a season 2 that would help. Not knowing is making it extra hard.
For anyone who missed the previous interviews with Dom btw, The International House Of Mojo has done a cool little post with links to them all here:
