on the christmas episode Sam says his granny was the head on a state pentary on blood island and the episode is set on Blood island.

    I doubt it. Curse of Monkey Island and The Adventures of Sam & Max came out in the same year, and I think cartoons are written a while in advance. I think it was called Blood Island to show how dangerous it is, and how it's a bad idea to spend Christmas there.
