What are the plans of the Voodoo Lady? (spoilers)

Why the Voodoo lady let LeChuck escape and kill Morgan, does she need an angry ghost?

Did LeChuck find her diary of it was just a fake proof?

What do you think about the Voodoo lady enigmatic character?

I personally think her plans are still unknown (probably even to the authors), but she is the Big Bad.

    1. Since when has the Voodoo Lady ever really directly interfered with much of anything? She kind of works through proxies all the time. Generally Guybrush, but also apparently DeCava and LeChuck.

    2. It seems like a random thing to go "Oh, that was a lie, nevermind." It was added in there by a writer, for a narrative reason. It definitely has some reason for existing, and the after-credits scene seems to corroborate some form of larger "plan", or at least facilitating a larger plan(of Fate or some third agent).

    3. I'd hit that.

Have you noticed how much De Cava looks like Guybrush??

And Elaine was trying to tell us who the Voodoo Lady was....I recon shes Guybrush's Mum - That would be so cool.....

    Who Knows!! :):)

I think her plan was to get her hands on the essence of the pirate god. When they were in prison, she reawakened the evil in LeChuck and somehow let him escape (or he escaped by his own doing) to get to La EsponHa after Guybrush made it Grande, so he could become the Pirate God.

LeChuck was always evil even when he was a human. He was a human when he murdered Morgan and that had to have happened before he was locked up with the voodoo lady as you can find her body right after they are locked up .

He may have killed Morgan while he was good. Remember, she is the most feared pirate hunter in the Caribbean. Maybe when LeChuck landed on Flotsam, he decided to steal some jus de vie before submitting to Flotsam justice, in case Grindstump would immediatly sentence him to be executed or Guybrush wouldn't be able to cure the pox and free him fast enough. So he sneaks into DeSinge's laboratory, and there is Morgan LeFlay. As far as he knows, she is a dangerous pirate hunter who is working for De Singe and apparently protecting his laboratory, and he knows he can't defeat her now that he is human, so he sneaks up on her and runs her through with her own sword. After that, maybe he finds some jus de vie, maybe he doesn't, but he submits to Flotsam justice anyway.

Well, he surely didn't just sneak up on her and ran her through, there has been a cruel fight from looks of the laboratory. Maybe the fight was about Guybrush's hand? I still wonder why it obviously wasn't reattached but turned up on the Voodoo Lady's desk in the end. Guybrush's having "two left hands" now?

This brings a certain Toothrot to mind... I think MI had learned there lesson on trying to do "big twists" like that. Plus, Guybrush isn't black. He's actually fairly pale.

Jesus, I'd hate another twist like that. I doubt TTG would make a mistake like that.
