Will the 'Secret' be revealed

I watched the 2 minute interview with Craig Derrick on Monkey Island 2 special edition, and in regards to the commentary, he said that they might reveal some secrets about the game. Do you think I would be stretching the ball of twine too far if I said that Ron could end up revealing the secret?

Someone at LA, forget who, did say they might reveal the secret in an unexpected way very soon.

Where is that interview to find?

Yeah, it was Craig Derrick who said that. It's gonna be so hard to wait until June/July/August to finally get this. At least there's The Devil's Playhouse. Oh, and the TMI DVD.

The secret is there is no secret. So they won't reveal it.

    My thoughts exactly.

I kind of hope they don't out of fear. If they do reveal the secret, there's like a 10% chance of it going well, and if it does it will be amazing (rather than just "well"). If it doesn't go well, it will be horrible (rather than just "not well"). So I have mixed feelings about it.

Of course there is a secret! Why else would the first game be called "The Secret of Monkey Island" And if, for some reason there werent a secret in the beginning, Ron Gilbert has now had almost 20 years to come up with one.

I'm still for "Monkey Island 3a - Special edition", which would be a special edition of the non-existing Ron's MI3, following after this. As a bonus they could include a VGA version of the game to make it complete.

Yeah, a monkey island 3a would be great. Not as a canonical game though; it's too late for that. As a "what if" or something though, it'd be brilliant. And this is a perfect time to start a project like that (or maybe after Deathspank's done)

I agree with Guinea. Plus it'd be cool if they released transcripts of any discussions Ron may have had about a future, future Monkey island game. Plus any daydream doodles LA team members may have drawn during MI planing conferences, and a breakdown of what Ron had for breakfast each day he worked on Monkey Island-related things.

Also, if they could extract and release a video DVD containing any Monkey Island-related dreams Ron may have had between 1990 and 2010, I think it would be appropriate to ship as an extra with the MI3a release.

It annoys me how they probably won't do this. How much time would it take them to compile a couple of old dreams? Jesus Christ, we get treated badly...
