Bone - The great cowrace -> invalid file

Hi,

I just tried to download Bone - The Great Cowrace and I got the message "Invalid File" when the download is at 99%. I tried to empty the temp dir and download again but I got the same error...

Out From Boneville downloaded correctly but when I click on "I purchased this already" it gives me the error "Missing one or more tags". The free trial period however, works...

Please help.

Jurriaan

P.S. I am using WinXP-64

Yes, I'm having this problem as well, and I've heard that jannar85 has the same problem.

    Hi guys,

The "missing one or more tags" error usually means there's something wrong with the download. Where are you downloading it from? (I'm assuming from the demo button on the Boneville page since that's really the only place it's up...)

Let me test both of these out and see if the same thing happens to me.

I also got the 'invalid file' error when I tried it, but the installer worked fine anyway, so you might give it a try.

Okay, I just downloaded and successfully installed and activated Out from Boneville. The order number I was using was from before we moved to this website, so I got an error message that my purchase was not complete (which is expected behavior). I was then able to unlock it with an activation key, no problems, no errors about missing tags.

I suggest you uninstall Boneville, do a search for any remaining Boneville files and delete them, and then download again here. If you have any problems with the download manager, here is a direct link to the Setup file. (It's uploading right now, so it might be a few minutes before it shows up there.)

I'm donwloading Cow Race now and will let you know what I find out.

Yep, that worked for me, thanks. :)

I got the invalid file thing and ran the installer anyway, and it worked, but now I'm getting "missing one or more tags" when I try to activate Cow Race.

Kevin is looking into this problem right now.

Yeah, I'm running into the same issues--good thing I saw it's being worked on or else I would have cluttered the support mailbox.

I am trying to purchase the deluxe edition of 'The Great Cow Race' now but when I attempt to checkout (after reviewing my cart and clicking on 'checkout') I keep getting a blank page with the words "Got bad response from DR" in the top left corner. I have tried this a few times already with the same message being displayed. Are the servers down right now?
  • edited November 2006
Aw crud, I was supposed to disable that. The CD version is causing some sort of server error at our commerce provider right now. They should hopefully have it fixed in the morning.

Wow, that was a fast response! Thanks for looking into this. I'll try tommorow then, I definitely want it!

Hey Tabacco, I noticed that the deluxe version of 'The Great Cow Race' is temporarily unavailable. What happened?

There's something weird happening on DR's end when you try to order it, so we took it down to prevent people getting errors.

We expected this to be fixed quickly but it's been several days now. I'll try to find out the status today.

Aaah...okay. I'll wait then. That's the one that I want.

It should now be available again.

Hey, Tobacco! I always believed that American DW fans were a myth. I've known of several who have tried, but didn't 'get' it.

You're not really a Yank, are you? You've emigrated... <g>

Born and raised in California, sorry. It's actually extremely strong selling over here. It's hard to find a bookstore that doesn't have at least some of them in stock at all times :)

Haven't had a chance to read Wintersmith yet, though.

Having the Governor show up could be a legitimate event in the video game, but assuming Lilly WAS the same Lilly we encountered in the comics (this issue refuses to be resolved, no matter how hard Kirkman tries ), it'd be pretty cool for S2's group to run into Lilly after the fall of Woodbury, just to see how much she's changed before her time there, and after.
