LeChuck's evil: spoilers
Sorry for the odd title, but I couldn't think of anything better that didn't give away huge spoilers. Anway my question is "Do you guys think that Tales finally made LeChuck into a villain more evil than his zombie form from Revenge?"
Many people beleive that Revenge was the pinnacle of his evil, but I beleive Tales far surpasses that now. He murdered quite a few people in this one and went after something other than Elaine, pure power. He turned the Caribbean in a hellish place and even smacked around Elaine, something that was never shown before. So, does anyone else think that Tales finally outdid LeChuck's evil from revenge?

I'd say that he's just as evil in LCR, but because it's much more focused (on Guybrush) it doesn't have such a wide-reaching effect. Who knows, maybe he did have plans for kidnapping Elaine and taking over the Caribbean, he just wanted to deal with Guybrush first so he wouldn't get in the way.
ETA: And he needed a chair to sit in while he reviewed those plans. A screaming chair.

To clarify, Tales did great. Amazingly well. LeChuck had a wonderful return to form, it was the best part of the game, and I'm extremely happy with it. But you can't really "quantify" evil, and if you could I'd say that pure revenge is more evil than ambition.
Don't get me wrong, I would never want to change that. I love what Monkey Island is now and what it was before equally.
The only way he could surpass his MI2 evil is if they made MI3A, drawing absolutely no influence from the newer games and following up from the first two in a different direction.
So basically, there are two LeChucks for me. Slightly-more-cartoon-villain LeChuck (the one we have now) and slightly-more-movie-villain LeChuck (from the first two games - esp. the second).
Now you see that is something I disagree with. I saw LeChuck as a much more comical villain in Revenge than in Tales. My reason for this is because every scene he was in was filled with jokes, or a spoof, or even Guybrush pulling his underwear out or giving him a hankie to blow his nose. There is none of that in Tales and Guybrush's death was the first scene devoid of all humor and LeChuck was just cruel with no comical relief at all in the scene. Even Guybrush mentions in the final battle that LeChuck strapped him in lame traps (the whole acid trap in Revenge) and had never tried to kill him so persistently.
You also have to look at the fact that though LeChuck wanted to kill Guybrush in that lowering in the acid trap, the guy leaves. He didn't even stand there to watch where as in Tales, LeChuck enjoyed punching Guybrush and even keelhauling him. Not to mention he laughs at abusing Elaine, the woman he claims to love. I just think LeChuck is so much crueler person in Tales, his values continue to diminish as we see it doesn't matter to him if his victims are women as Mermaid put nicely. It made me wonder for the first time if LeChuck has a limit, perhaps children but even that is questionable now after Tales in my opinion.
