My name is Alice Vigeral-Stewart. I was born Vigeral, my husband was born Stewart, when we got married we changed our names to Vigeral-Stewart. It didn't seem fair for just one of us to take the other's name and we did want to have the same name.
This way it shows that by getting married we became our own family, while keeping the roots from both sides.
But it's long and some people have trouble with it. I'm used to shortening my name to Vistew for forums and games and stuff so it wouldn't feel out of place for it to become my last name officially.

Sorry for the bump, but I think that if your surname happens to be McMahon, then you can name your son Harris and it would look normal to most people, but familiar for those who played the Curse of Monkey Island.:)

Generally you can find 'normal' equalivants to Monkey Island names.

Haha! That's a pretty cool concept.

It reminds me of Edward Van Helgen, I think his name was derived from Eddie Van Halen. Which would make sense, as they're both maestros on similar instruments.

I don't think I'd be able to take my own kids seriously if I were to name them after a character. I can't even name my pets after characters. Otherwise I'd be going 'Oh no! Guybrush died this morning!' Then I'd feel even more rotten.

Hmm, I would definitely name pets Guybrush and Elaine.

And I could definitely see naming my daughter Elaine, or my son Guy. But really, it would be best if I married someone with the last name of Marley, then I would definitely name my daughter Elaine.

I like the combining the names thing, although if I did that, I would have 5 words to my name. That would be crazy to sign checks like that.

I worked in a kindergarten once and there was a boy named Dino.
But I think Guybrush is like the coolest name ever, but I just don't think the kid who is named that would agree. :p
I do like Elaine, that is a good name. :)

Dino is not much of a bad name, but i know a guy named Pinky, and his nickname is pinku...hmm i feel sorry for him having to grow up with that name, kids must of been so cruel

New dating technique! Ask for last name first to check which Monkey Island inspired names you could give your kids!

That's not a bad idea really! It's just as hit or miss as any other form of dating.

I wouldn't know. To be honest, I've never dated someone before knowing their last name anyways. So it's not like I'd need to ask. And, well, I've never used any dating techniques, unless you include having breasts, so I have no clue how effective they might be.
