The title of Season Two...
Everybody keeps calling it Tales of Monkey Island season 2, am i the only one who thinks this is stupid?
I really hope they don't just go for that as the name and go for a whole new name.
What do you all think?

[spelling_nazi]First, that's not a question. It's not punctuated properly.[/spelling_nazi] Second, no, you're not the only one, though I'm fine with it if they directly follow the Tales storyline.
umm... lemme take a sec to find a previous thread on names. I had good ideas there.
edit: okay... so I found the other thread: http://www.telltalegames.com/forums/showthread.php?t=14627
here are my ideas [the ones above the ellipsis (...) are serious ideas.]
Like Maybe:
Tales of Monkey Island: The Pox of LeChuck for the first one
and
Tales of Monkey Island: (insert Subtitle here, maybe The Secret Revealed)
Longest name award received!
Tales of Monkey Island II: The Dangerous Journey to Mysterious Worlds Beyond the Edge of the Horizon - The Adventures of Morgan LeFlay, Reginald Van Winslow and Guybrush Threepwood aboard the Screaming Narwhal.
Tales of Monkey Island 2: The Sixth Installment in the Canonical Monkey Island Storyline Which Does Not Follow Ron Gilbert's Monkey Island 3 Because The Curse of Monkey Island is the Only Monkey Island 3 and Even Ron Gilbert is Uninterested in Creating "His" Monkey Island 3 But Certain Monkey Island Fans Won't Just Let it Go
I win.
If we are to go with subtitles for each Season does that not make the Chapter/episode titles redundant? E.g. Tales of Monkey Island [name other than 'Season 2'] rise of the Pirate God.
I think seasonal names would be overly superfluous, it'd be like naming every season of your favourite t.v. show then having really quirky, apt names for each episode. I think eventually TTG would run out of impressive/captivating names.
Besides I don't mind "season 2" providing it's styilised differently to the standard MI logo. In the way that Lechuck's Revenge placed the "2".
At least the Tales season-by-season games add an interesting dimension to the Monkey Island franchise, adding an epic Tale between younger guybrush from EfMI and that of a prophetic Monkey Island 6.
I'm no LucasArts evangelist that prays that MI6 will come one day, but I would like to see a new direction after Tales for Guybrush. Perhaps LeChuck will
be finally defeated (even though I love LeChuck to bits - no pun intended) and that leads Guybrush onto new adventures/bad guys. I'd be happy with TTG making an MI6...
But I think I've offered to many tangeants for this thread. So whether to subtitle each Season individually in my opinion would clash with the Monkey Island praenomen and the episodic cognomen.
Shouldn't that be Tales of Monkey Island: Electric Voodooloo?
Tales of Monkey Island 2: That's Stupid and You're Stupid and Yes I Have Stooped to Childish Insults
If they make season 2, that is.
I hope they do
No, because chapters in Monkey Island have always had their own titles. So it would be like Monkey Island 2: LeChuck's Revenge - Part II - The Four Map Pieces.
Heck it happens all the time in not just gaming, but in movies and books too. Books often hav named chapters, even if the main title has a subtitle. Another game that does this is Metal Gear Solid 4. There's a plethora of examples out there.
Heck the latest TellTale game does this: Sam and Max Season 3: The Devil's Playhouse - Episode 1: The Penal Zone.
So, it would be perfectly natural, and certainly not the exception, that the same would be done for Tales of Monkey Island 2.
I'm pretty sure it's just "Sam&Max:The Devil's Playhouse". No Season 3 in the title. It may be the third season, but it's not anywhere in the title.
Furthermore, Tales of MI isn't as episodic as previous Telltale titles. It is alot more like a single game than a group of single episodes, ergo the term "Season" isn't exactly acurate.
Tales of Monkey Island: The Pox of LeChuck
Yeah, I guess it would sound a little stupid. Tales of Monkey Island 2: Subtitle, Episode 1: Something-something. Just a little bit of a mouthful.
I think I like this one the best.
You realise it's that way for the other games, right?
Like Sam and Max Season Two: Beyond Time and Space: Episode One: Ice Station Santa.
I hear one of the Strong Bad Episode is much much worse, and this one only had one season.
Anyway, I don't think each episode is a tale. They clearly called them chapters. As far as I'm concerned it's just one tale. I'd be perfectly fine with the next season being called something completely different, but it would make sense to me that it would be called Tales of Monkey island again. And yes, the first season would need a subtitle.
But the first two seasons of Sam and Max didn't have a title at first either. That came later. So it might still happen.
I think Tales is a very fitting name for a series of seasons. Tales of Monkey Island doesn't really say ANYTHING with its title. All the other games do. There's a Secret in SoMI, LeChuck is after revenge in MI2, there's the Curse in CMI and in EMI you end up having to escape. Tales however doesn't reveal anything at all about the plot.
Yeah, I guess it isn't that bad now that I think about it. And plus, all of the other MI games' chapters had titles (and some really long ones too), so yeah, why not have a title and a sub-title for the season?
Indeed. I would really worry if LucasArts were going to make it, considering the mess-ups with SMI:SE (unfinished background art, GB's hair, wrong inflection in voice acting, terrible narrator voice, out of place music style...)
For the win, sir.
Which makes me wonder how Telltale plans to make the Season 3 DVD cover match the other two seasons and incorporate the extra title.
np: OK Go - While You Were Asleep (Of The Blue Colour Of The Sky)
So, by having Tales of Monkey Island and Tales of Monkey Island 2: <Title>, it wouldn't be all that bad.
