New Villain?

Since MI2, MI games had "guest" villains. MI2 Largo, CMI Rottingham, EMI Ozzie, TMI DeSinge; with LeChuck as the main villain. This episodic structure is the perfect opportunity to have a new "main" villain.

Having Guybrush defeat him in every game makes him less threatening as a villain. LeChuck needs a vacation.

    Largo should make a comeback!

I disagree. In EMI Ozzie was like 95% the main villain with LeChuck as more of the guest. While I still liked that game, that was definitely one thing that bothered me. It'd be like Mario not having to fight Bowser (Yes, I know this happened in Super Mario RPG which was a great game, but still). Besides, LeChuck is such a great character and pretty much drives the story.

I could be the next villian if TTG wants a new one ^^

Well to be fair... LeChuck did kill Guybrush this time around.

I wouldnt like it if they had LeChuck sit out a game.... I wouldn't mind it if he didn't get "killed" at the end... maybe just defeated.. and escapes like TV show villains.

I like getting a new second string baddy each time..... It must be fun coming up with ideas for the new bad guys I would love to sit in on those meetings/brainstorm sessions.

If memory serves, I think someone said (more or less) this but I'll just say it:

Maybe the new villain should be someone trying to get the Remains of Lechuck and not because he wants to kill Guybrush (at first) but to try and get control of Lechuck's voodoo-esque powers, causing Guybrush to go out and stop said villain?

I dunno, my two pieces of eight, please feel free to ignore me. I'm sleep deprived and my mind is making stupid stuff...

Yeah, I didn't like how he just 'vanished' in MI2.

I agree that Largo should make a comeback, but I think that LeChuck should be in there at the top either way. What he could do [LeChuck], is hire an apprentice bad guy, and train him. Perhaps he has a ghost-demon-pirate-son? Or, perhaps I'm just pushing this too far.

Seeing as we're talking about Largo, it would be nice to know who's voicing him, we get a bit of an idea as to how he might sound in-game. Better yet, show us some gameplay footage, Lucasarts! Please? With A voodoo doll on top? I know there's going to be a trailer, as there is a spot on the website that says video, and when you hover your mouse over it, it says coming soon. It will be interesting to see who voices all the characters, actually.

I certainly hope they have more than 1 voiceactor ;).

I say; MI without LeChuck ain't MI. So I would definitely want him back.

    Yes, definitely:D
I wonder if Dominic Armato has anything to say about MI2SE. Anyways, I agree, Lechuck needs to be in it, seeing as how Tales ended (post credits). However, I think that the main villain needs to be
    The Voodoo Lady

Well, there's a solution to this. We could have Largo as a main villain, and the whole game is about Guybrush trying to stop him from resurrecting LeChuck. He manages to stop him in the finale. To make things a bit more interesting, something happens (Guybrush's clumsiness) and LeChuck gets ressurected anyway, without Guybrush knowing. Thinking GB has saved the day once again, LeChuck gets away somehow, without GB noticing. Cue a potential sequel.

    It's too late, now, but...

With Tales, I was really excited at the idea that LeChuck might stay human. Even better, human and good (if a bit stupid and not good with puzzles).
The way I see it, by Curse, LeChuck being the villain was already getting old. Now it's just annoying. I thought that would be a great way to keep him in the games while having other villains. Plus that would have been a great way to deal with Earl Boen retiring, too.

Anyway, that hasn't happened. And I was sad. But at least with the whole voodoo lady development there might be some more originality there, rather than the same thing again.

For the record, I was also pretty disappointed that Guybrush got his hand back :( What was the point of him losing it then? It just... "We're making a bold move, but then we undo it!". I was disappointed. I don't like when things return to status quo.

I thought Largo was a great villain, and when I got involved with the online community I wasn't surprised to find out that he has so many fans. I'd love to see him in a future MI game. I wouldn't want LeChuck to be ignored though, and I don't think Largo should "overpower" him or take the role of main villain.

If anyone's going to take the role as the new main villain, it's probably going to be the Voodoo Lady. Possibly. We don't really know exactly what she's up to yet!

A new villan never hurts once in a while.
With Mario for example Bowser never gets old, yet is always al right with a new villain(super mario rpg thousand year door, super paper mario, mario land 1+2) He is always good but nintendos new villans are sometimes awesome.

Lets hope they dont reuse lechuck to the point of gruntilda in banjo kazooie
(she was first an evil witch, then a skeleton, followed by a severed head in an artificial body) Therewe might need a new villan but how they are handling lechuck i dont think so.

CONGRATULATION, you just recreated most of the first act of MI2.

Blackbeard should be the new villain.

I wish the new villain was some kind of Voodoo Loa with dark powers. You know, a lanky shadow guy, scary face, can turn into smoke, cool exotic accent, maybe even a tophat, something like that. And I want LeChuck and Guybrush to somehow ally during the game so they can save Elaine from that guy. I don't want LeChuck to be the big bad guy again, that's getting a little old.

Whoa! Maybe that is actually a giant robot made of gold.... it all makes sense now.

I'm absolutely sure that, if the TellTale will use LeChuck again in the next game, they will use it in the right way. They're excellent writers, and I'm sure that they will never be banal.

However, maybe in the next game there should be a TRUE alliance between Guybrush and LeChuck against the Voodoo Lady as a real villain, and some new minor villain (in De Singe-style).

Morgan LeFlay possessed by LeChuck via wearing his belt = pirate hunter-god. She'll skewer the Carribean and LeChuck will look for a way to return physically rather than duelling personalities with Morgan constantly. Thus allowing Telltale to open up a whole new image for LeChuck (without tusks!).

Maybe it's just me but I'd like to see LeChuck seduce Guybrush in this way, or a scene where Morgan wins over with her intense emotions, kisses Guybrush and LeChuck winning over Morgan's personality and saying something extremely crude/hilarious.
Like, "Eh! Don't lock lips with me Seepgood!"

When I think about it, the problem with LeChuck is that every game since MI2, he's suddenly supposedly become more and more dangerous than in each game. Somehow, every game strived to make him more powerful than the last game, and this seriously needs to stop. From Ghost to Zombie made "sense", but Zombie to demon to all-of-the-above to Pirate God. What's more powerful than a God? I think he should just go back to being a zombie pirate, one that occasionally comes back to life like Jason Vorhees in Friday the 13th. And one that you don't see all that often during the game (apart from maybe cutscenes), so that when you finally do encounter him face to face he feels like an actual threat.
