The Most Active MI Forums on the Net

Okay, so I haven't exactly scoured the entire web looking for all possible MI-related forums... but I've been over at the Mojo and MI forums at LucasForums.com (since being told about LordTrilobite's SMI:SE fixes,) and they feel about as alive as a pewter wad after you put grog in a mug and wait too long.

By contrast, the Telltale forums are packed with people who post all the time. Probably says something about the complete awesomeness that is Telltale Games, but I still feel compelled to wonder how this place has managed to become the most active Monkey Island forums on the whole interwebs.

I mean, MI has been around for 20 years, and it's quite possibly the most popular adventure game franchise. You'd think there'd be more activity elsewhere, not just right here.

The Scumm Bar and World of MI both had pretty active forums for a while, but after 10 years it does dry up a bit. I think Telltale ended up with such an active MI forum for the obvious reason: we had the most new Monkey Island content. When the Scumm Bar and the like were updating regularly (which was pretty consistent up until a couple years ago) they were the place to go for new MI information, so people kept coming. Now that's, maybe strangely, us.

Was going to say something along the lines of Tales being the most recent MI game out. Pretty much what Jake said.

I like to think that its because I post here.... obviously not true but I still like to think it.

See that's just 80% of the reason the form is active. The remaining 20 is for the other people. ;)

It's hard to blame them for stopping - after ten years of no news and no (likely) hope, why keep updating about...well, nothing but the same old rehased stuff?

And yes, I agree, this place strangely has become the best MI forum on the net.

I still post at the Lucasforums MI Forum every so often*, and so do another 1 or 2 people, but that's about it. In fact, the Mojo forums were way more active than the MI forums at Lucasforums at the time of Tales' release. Forum forums. Forums.

*about once or twice a year

Whenever I visit the world of mi forums I feel like I'm knocking on the gates of a ghost town.
