MI DVD + Steam

So, I've got the entire set on Steam, but sure would love the DVD set too.

Do Steam buyers get some love?

The DVD is an exclusive for those that buy direct from Telltale, sorry to say. Has been that way since the start.

Is it really so hard to use the forum search tool?
  • edited April 2010
It was more it was late, and I went about 5 pages deep and honestly forgot about searching.

Anywho, C'est la vie... not biggie, although it would have been nice. These responses though have shown me the kindness level of these forums....

Yeah, you should stick around man, it's great here. Especially during the season.

I think Cross was actually pointing out the lack of kindness they have seen here. I do agree that people can tend to be a little rude, and not everyone knows about every feature on this forum. To jump all over them is hardly a warm welcome to the community. Cross, I do hope you stick around or at least read a post here and there in the future as not all of us are that rude. Also, I guess that I'll be the only person to actually welcome you here.

...I'd rather let you go, frankly. You're being rude and antagonistic. Far worse attributes than simply not knowing something.

He's probably gone forever by now you know

Likely. Just because a person is gone is no reason to lob cheap insults at them.

Search your feelings! I know you do agree with me.

Nah, you know his next topic was going to be named something like: WHERE'S SEASON TWO or WHERE IS WII DVD with capital letters
  • edited April 2010
He might even make a done to death thread like this one:
    http://www.telltalegames.com/forums/showthread.php?t=15072

Oh... the horror that is prevented now...

He migh as well just come in every thread he finds to call other people trolls while he himself can't respect other people's opinions and is ignoring facts.

    Because people are jerks.

The main thing keeping most people from acting like jerks all the time is social consequence.

Because anonymity removes the vast majority of consequence for being a jerk.

Essentially, the internet is free license to be a jerk.

As far as my uncle is concerned, the internet is fair game. Anything goes. There are no rules. And why should there be since it's not meant to be taken seriously? That's his outlook. I should note incidentally that I don't share it...

His phrase is always: "It's just the internet."

I would like to point out that there are lots of forums out on the net where people would be chastized for asking a question that had been asked numerous times already.

... though that still doesn't excuse rudeness, I suppose.

I'll admit to being a jerk at times, but thin029, you're flat out being an asshole.

These forums were great back before and just after TMI was announced. Then the word got out and a million rabid fans came and ruined the place. I'm trying to find reasons to stay, but that list is shrinking. Every now and then I find an interesting topic that holds me here a little longer. But nothing's near as interesting anymore and the people are way more rude.

It was even better a year before that. =D

Well, it just happened quicker this time....forum decline expedites over time and with more released games I guess. Sooner or later this place will end up like the LucasArts or 3D Realms forums or something.

Maybe. I think we've gained a fairly strong set of good users since I've(and you've) joined, though. Don't get me wrong, there are users I'd rather not have around(and generally I'd prefer not to name names), but I don't think it has become unbearable or less worth it.

Not quite yet (after all I'm still here), but you never know. And of course I agree there are some worthwhile members that have come since.

Wait... isn't that when you joined? Or did you use to have a different account?

Sometimes it's frustrating to see the same threads pop again and again, and there are some arguments I'm not crazy about, but all in all, I really like this forum, and many of the people on them.
Of course I haven't known the golden age of before I joined and contributed to ruin the place :p So I can't compare.

No, I joined just after TMI was announced. It took a couple months for the crazies to pour in. Around the 4 chapter's release is when I seen the forums starting to become bloated.

My whole problem is that 90% of the threads on this forum are now uninteresting and pointless banter. That's my opinion, of course. Just seems like a bunch of random conversations about nothing in particular instead of really engaging interesting topics. But that's the way all forums end up sooner or later. You run out of things to talk about....I just hoped it wouldn't happen so soon. It comes with a greater number of users as well.

Then again, maybe they always were pointless threads and I'm just getting bored of them now? Maybe that's all the internet is? Who knows...
