What is it for?

I downloaded the game in the afternoon, and 10 minutes ago I started the game and it had a software update.

Im just posting this here to know what's the difference between versions 1.0 and 1.1 of the game.

    PS3 gets it before Steam, AND gets a patch before it's even out on Steam?

    The patch is there to fix a minor save/load issue that Sony caught after we submitted. No biggie.
