Technical Help

I recently bought a VGA monitor cable so that I can play Monkey Island games on my TV. It works perfectly for all the games except for the special edition for the first game. When I try to start it up, it looks as though it's gonna start but then quickly goes back to the desktop. I was just wondering if anyone has any idea if it's possible to play the game with the VGA cable. Any help would be greatly appreciated, thanks.

the cable is just the physical link between your computer and tv, it has no impact on your ability to play any games, i suggest a reinstall

Well, it can impact the games because the format of the desktop must be changed in order to fit into the TV screen. Tales for instance did not work at all until I changed the resolution. I was thinking that something similair may be the case with the special edition, but so far nothing has really worked.

thats still got nothing to do with the cable though, the resolution isn't set by the cable. what are your system specs? and do other steam games work ok?

I heard someone mention that setting your TV up as a second monitor (in addition to your current one) may help.

Thanks for the response guys. I was able to fix it; I just had to change the resolution for the game. I couldn't access the game to change it on the TV so I just had to use my laptop to access it and change the resolution and then set it back up the TV so the settings transferred there. All good, thread can be closed as soon as possible now. Thanks for the help guys.
