I bought a Flip camera recently.

Here's a Fantail fluttering around the front lawn this morning.

No. Everyone knows they're just a myth. You've obviously been listening to human tales too much.

This Emperor Gum Moth landed on my car the other day. We caught it and brought it inside to identify it. It's huge, biggest moth I've ever seen outside of a tropical butterfly house. Australian species originally, either got blown here or caterpillars came in on imported wood, but they're not too harmful.

Because giant spiders roam the streets, crushing houses beneath their huge disgusting feet.

    lol.

I also live in a countryside of New Zealand (though I'm not a kiwi but my hubby is) and we do get a lot of NZ native birds, weta, hedgehogs, morporks, possums, etc in our property. One of our regular visitors is a wild rabbit (we call it Warren), who visits our pet bunny Chester. I have a photo of the rabbit but I don't know how to post it.

My son spotted this ~13cm (5") slug sliding its way down the outside of our house last week. Ugh.

It's a Yellow Slug, introduced to New Zealand from Europe.

I woke up early yesterday morning (~6am) to find a couple of dozen Eastern grey kangaroos near the house. They were all spread out grazing, and because they're quite shy I only managed to snap a few before they hopped away.

These two were snacking on a sapling in the front yard.

Nice - and that's a beautiful shot of the sparrow in the snow earlier too.

There were four baby ducks that were adopted by pretty much the entire town when someone (who was never caught, unfortunately) beat their mother to death with a rock.

    Here they are grown up.

Here's an echidna I saw when I was back in Australia last week. It crossed the road just as we were driving past. Unfortunately he was scared and wouldn't show his beautiful little face, so all I got is a crappy camera-phone pic of a breathing ball of spikes!

This is what they look like when not in defence mode.
