Activate Monkey Island on Steam:Mac?
I have my Monkey Island keys, but since Steam came out for Mac I would like to manage my keys through Steam (since that's where I have all my other games). Is it possible to activate my Monkey Island keys and have them managed through Steam?

Of course, from any computer you can always grab the game from the Telltale "your games" page.
I mean, the only reason I have bought products here instead of through steam, is because I wanted the mac versions also, not only the windows one, but now with steam for mac, I feel stupid for not buying them there in the first place. I also felt this about torchlight, but when I found out that runic games have made an exception now, because of the release of steam for mac, I was hpoing maybe telltale could too. I mean, when someone else can make it happen, so can telltale. Its just a question of wanting to. Any thoughts on this?
Unfortunately.
I got these keys through MacHeist and was super excited to play them. The games are great, but it's a pain to manage them. I really do like having everything managed through Steam. I hope TellTale listens and helps their customers out.
Thanks for your thoughts everyone. I hope that others will post here that want to manage games through Steam, just so TellTale can know how great (or maybe not great) the demand is for the keys to be managed in Steam.
In TellTale's defense, their system is good, I don't worry about where my keys are since they are registered here. I just would like some freedom to choose my system. I wonder if a transfer system could be provided in the future? That would certainly make me happy.
So a small hint to TTG: Please, for once, pick up one of the most wanted suggestions and contact Steam about adding the retail keys. I'm sure many of us would even be inclined to pay a few Dollars to get their bought games registered on Steam.
How 'bout this then - I got an offer for buying all the S&M games for 30 bucks, which I'd glady fork out, if it was applicable to Steam. Is it?
Games sold here... who got the money? Telltale did.
Games sold on steam... who got the money? I don't know what cut valve takes but they certainly don't give all the money to Telltale.
So the point is, in the second situation valve got money for providing their service. Valve would almost certainly want money for people to let people add their Telltale games on steam. Considering the number of games Telltale has sold on their own website it will probably be quite a large amount of money.
Yes, but honestly, paying another € 45 for this pack or even € 99 for the complete package is a bit overkill if one already owns all the games here, don't you think?
I fully understand this, and thus I am willing to pay for it, just not a full price.
The thing is it has been done by other developers, so I'm sure there's some way to work it out without loosing money.
One way could be that they grant, say, a 80% refund of the purchases made here at TT and let us buy the Steam versions. This would ofc be one-time thing.
And now think about users that would use this to get their money back for a game they already played or even got the DVD for without rebuying the steamversion. The money they made from those games is used for making new games, paying employees etc.
There are 2 main problems with the steamactivation:
1) How do you handle single episode purchases? From Strong Bad on thereis no option to buy single episodes on steam but you can get them here.
2) People will sell their keys or give them to their friends. Some have done it with the key for the TF2-items. People were offering here and on the steamforums to buy those Steamkeys (that unlock the whole S&M Season 3 on Steam btw.) and reporting about successful transactions. They should think twice before they let that happen ever again.
2) This can be easily controlled/monitored and giving the key to someone else would work just with the purchase here in the TTG shop too - so no change.
All in all, it's just a question of the Telltale guys/gals responding to user wishes and actually for once doing something about it. As much as I like the Telltale games, the whole retail shopping experience and the handling of updates/patches is more than poor here. Unfortunately.
I don't quite follow...
It would be very expensive, what don't you understand about that? I'm not sure what you mean about the shopping experience being poor... do you expect everything to be like Steam? I'm happy that my games aren't locked into the Steam client with it's somewhat draconian reliance on their servers. My brother couldn't play Portal earlier today because Steam couldn't connect for whatever reason.
Nobody said that it would be very expensive. I'm pretty sure that the costs for having this service on Steam are not that great, otherwise a small company like Runic Games ("Torchlight") would never be able to afford this, but still they do - even without any additional pay from their customers.
As I said, I would even be willing to pay a few bucks to have my Telltale games also on Steam, but I certainly won't be paying almost the full price again.
And noone forces you to use Steam, but there are many of us, who would enjoy having their TTG games collected on Steam.
Actually, Valve do force you to use steam.
That's beside the point though. I just wish people wouldn't keep saying "This would be easy! Telltale must hate their customers!" because it's almost certainly more complicated than you think. As der_kerzer pointed out, people might sell their steam keys to other people.
Preventing the selling of keys is rather easy and has been solved that way for many other games. Either Telltale can lock the key to a specific account (has been done before) or they can gift the episodes to a specific account.
And to be frank: there is nothing that cannot be done! Believe me, I know that sometimes business negotiations can take some time, but in the end the parties usually come to an agreement that is mutually advantageous.
What I'd really like to see is that Telltale at least starts to look into doing this and not just telling everyone "nah that's too much work".
