And aw, I can't afford the two Mass Effects. Ah well. Maybe they'll go on sale again the last day, maybe they'll go on sale between now and the release of ME3.
I picked Michael Corleone because that was the only reference I understood.
I chose it too, but I knew the other two because I'm weird like that.
The thing I'm really wondering about is if the other episodes will pick up a save or something to make sure everyone in the time period still calls you Mr. Corleone.
As much as I love Christmastime...I hate Christmas. I love doing holiday baking. I hate rushing to finish holiday baking and then getting it prepared to take over for Christmas Eve with my mom's huge family. And honestly, there's only a few people in my family I really like, and most of them spend time with other people, so I either have to wrangle a specific one of my cousins away to play pool, if we're gathered somewhere with a table, or I have to find a quiet corner to sit down with my DS (or PSP this year).
Christmas day is a bit better. It's just my family and my dad's parents (now that my uncle's job moved him to Salt Lake City) at my grandparents' house. Unfortunately, that still cuts me off from all but my handheld gaming system, but at least I can socialize better with that grouping. The only time it really sucks is when they start watching a movie I can't stand, like the year my sister got Hairspray for Christmas. And that's the other thing, unless I get a movie everyone wants to watch or a DS game, I get gifts for Christmas that I open on the morning of the 25th and don't get a chance to do anything with until the 26th.
So I guess what I'm saying is that the time around Christmas is nice, but Christmas itself is way too ridiculously stressful and socially awkward.
And if you couldn't guess from my bitching, I'm in the "getting ready to go to Christmas Eve" stage. Adding to the stress, this year I decided to bring cheesecake to show off to my family. Unfortunately, I took some advice on a "better" way to bake it (fuck the Food Network), since my cheesecake always seems to come out too soft, and it came out softer than ever this year. Even worse, I did two cheesecakes, since one is for tomorrow, so that one fell prey to the same accident. At least the one for New Year's will be spared when I make it next week.
Well, before I came up to my parents' house I bought a box of Lemsip Max All in One because I knew that my sister and my mum were both unwell, and I was likely to catch their plague. (and I swear by Lemsip as my magical cold go away medicine) And it appears that I have indeed caught it, so went to make myself a Lemsip to fend it off. Only to notice that the expiry date on the box is 1st November 2010. I bought it on Monday. DAMN YOU SUPERDRUG. Looks like it's hot tea and honey for me.
Also, Merry Christmas to everyone in a timezone that's past midnight!
We were supposed to go to Ian's parents both yesterday and today (his brother, sister-in law and her son - who is my age - are there too) but I stayed home both days and he went alone. I always worry that people will be upset that I didn't make it there, but these gatherings just aren't my thing.
Oooh just got back from my family christmas, and came back with a new stand for my laptop that helps prevent overheating(which happens a lot) and a wireless mouse which works well with the new stand.
Loving it.:D
Are you kidding, that makes it even worse. it could be where your in one timezone for a week, another for a month, and then be on some other planet entirely. Imagine the jet lag.

Nice.
