Yeah, remind me to never read that page ever, ever, EVER. Even just watching the trailer to that movie was enough to make me feel nauseous.

Stop making me curious. I really need to get some sleep tonight.

Been off the forums for a week working on my source analysis on Egil's saga. Didn't realize how much I missed it.

This should have been on the body horror page

My sister saw the whole movie, and ended up crying because she was so disgusted. I was only able to watch the trailer.

I don't know if I've ever had a movie trailer involuntarily activate my gag reflex before.

Copied and pasted from an IM because I'm lazy!

I thought the hype was worse than the actual movie. I really didn't find it too horrifying at all outside of the "meal time" scene.

Oh god, what does that say about me? :|

I didn't find it to be 'horrifying' in the traditional definition of the word.

Revolting? A waste of film? Mutilation porn? All of the above would accurately describe the film.

If you didn't find the concept to be disturbing in any way, I'd be concerned.

I don't know about all that. It was graphic, but not nearly as much as your average "shock" film. In fact, they could probably show it on television with pretty minor edits. I think the director showed some admirable self-restraint in that regard.

Also, the story wasn't all that awful, either. It wasn't "good" per se, but there was thought behind it, and it succeeded in what it set out to do.

Of course, my opinion may be skewed, as I love escape stories, human experimentation stories, and unhappy endings. :p

Sorry, I should have specified. I was referencing the concept of the film. The concept of sewing three people together. You're absolutely right about the film not being graphic. I've seen far worse.

The 'waste of film' part just arose from my general dislike for the film. I just thought that it was poorly made and didn't have enough plot to keep me going. That's just my opinion of the film though.

But... my opinion is different... I don't know what to make of this... start liking my likes, dammit! :p

But yeah, it's dead. It's been dead for months, as far as I know. Now the cool kids get together on Skype, and so do we!

Ha! That's some hilarious commentary, Avi!

Also, to restate what I said in the wrong thread; Dr. Frank N. Furter is the role Tim Curry was born to play.

An apt enough first post for Page 666, though I really wanted that. Discuss the Rocky Horror Picture show with me! My friends are horrible people and took me to see it at midnight for my birthday. How did I live for so long without this delightful movie? HOW!?

    EDIT: GOT IT

Man, I love Rocky Horror Picture Show.

That and Reefer Madness are real musical classics.

I love Tim Curry so much.

Shame they ruined the sequel (if you can call it that! XD)

You know, I try to watch Rocky Horror at least once every few months.
If I can't manage it, then I always listen to the soundtrack when I'm on the move.

    I. Just. Love. That. Film!!! :)

Who knows? I've lived about five months longer without seeing it. And counting!

I suppose that, given the above comments, if I wish to figure out what's going on, I have to go and see the show?

Rent it on DVD, only way to know what's going on from what I've heard. Going to see showings of it can be pretty loud with all the callouts and stuff, not that I don't do them when watching in the privacy of my own home

It looks like its on Netflix instant play. Well, I know what I'll be watching now. This is probably a better venue for my curiosity than what I was previously planning on watching anyway.

Nyet! You're cheating yourself if you have access to a shadow casted version of it and only see the film. It's an experience.
EDIT: You're in a college town. Of course you can see it live.

True, true. But I just watched it on netflix anyways. It was pretty hilarious and I'm glad that I spent an hour and forty minutes of my time watching it. And for some reason, it really made me want to go play Maniac Mansion again.

The live show may take some time to arrange, though. Especially since I lack transportation. And time. Maybe, I can persuade Comrade Mortis...

But, now having seen the show, it raises more questions. Like:
    Damn it, Janet.

Does this mean you're proposing to me? Actually, don't answer that question.
