Now there's a name I didn't expect to see again. Saw them live in 2008.

OMG OMG OMG OMG... just found out that Cheech & Chong will be performing in my hometown of Amsterdam. First time they've ever been here (pretty weird, seeing their comedy subject).
Tickets go on sale tomorrow, I'll be there!

    Updating my GOG backups.

I haven't done this since June so I have A LOT of games to download and then copy over to my portable hard drive.
(Thinking about getting a new USB 3.0 one for my lappy with a little extra space. Maybe I'll suggest it as a birthday present! XD (Nah. I'll just try to save up for one. Only about £60 these days anyway! :D))

I'm just very glad I have fibre-optic internet. I remember it took me about 3 days the last time I had to do a large-scale operation like this! XD

EDIT: Heh. You can tell I'm pretty bad for getting games these days when I realised that I DO own Arma 2 - Combined Operations afterall. On GOG! X'D
(Glad I didn't get it last steam sale then... *blush*)

Wondering if the community here could help me out. I want to buy a new game or two for my son for Christmas. He has custom built his own gaming p.c., and he has a PS3. He plays all different types of games, but I think the last new games that he got were in April for his birthday. I know I can read reviews on other sites, but I wondered; if you could recommend any new games, what would they be? Thanks for the input!

Even though I don't really like the game myself that much, I think PlayStation All-Stars Battle Royale is one choice.

LittleBigPlanet Karting isn't a well-received game, but if it plays anything like ModNation Racers, it might be a fun game. Also, it's great for people who are creative, especially since you aren't actually restricted to making karting tracks.

If it already isn't in the collection, definitely the Walking Dead, if only because this is the freaking Telltale Games forums.

Unfortunately I'm more familiar with Nintendo games, so yeah. Haven't purchased a game in ages for the PS3. I do love Zen Pinball 2 though, which is only available on PSN, so it requires either a voucher to add cash to the wallet or a credit card.

Anyway, I'm thinking about putting my Max hat on TF2 for sale on the community market. I'm kind of sick of random people randomly adding me to their friends list, only for them to nag about my Max head hat.

I find the best way to do this is to keep yourself listed as "Offline" when not using Steam. People won't add you nearly as much.

Also, everyone should listen to this.

    Yes, that's a
near-perfect cover of Don't Stop Believin' mixed with Enter Sandman with Christmas-themed lyrics sung by Jess Harnell, aka the voice actor of Wakko Warner.

I deal with this by not friending people I don't know who have more than a hundred hours logged in TF2.

What types of games does he have? Shooters? RPGs? Sandbox games? Adventure games?

Yeah I saw that. I can't believe how horrible some people can be. And I bet people are already using it for their own political agenda, which feels just as heartless at times.

The lack of adequate gun control and mental health care attention are probably your answers.

I don't know how to fix this problem except by abolishing men. I mean, seriously. How many times do you see a woman running around shooting a place up?

I can't think of a single one, but I'm sure there must be. In any case, the number is pretty damn small.

Hah. I love guns. I'm actually on the record as having a friend who is a gunsmith. But not everyone should have one. Especially not an assault rifle.
  • edited December 2012
I don't think anyone should have automatic weapons at all. There is no valid argument that I have ever heard.

27 years old. Likes shooters, RPGs. Played The Walking Dead on my computer and liked it. Plays World of Tanks online with friends right now. Liked the Resident Evil game. I can't keep track of everything he has or plays, he switches around a lot.

As far as that shooting goes.. We have a lot of guns in our home. My husband shoots competitions with some, and uses others to help some farmers he knows control their varmint population. He is a certified firearms safety instructor. Not everyone with a lot of guns is a nut. Unfortunately, some very unstable people have gotten a hold of guns and killed many innocent people. But there are more ways than that to kill large groups, if they put their minds to it. We have enough gun laws here in the U.S., they just need to be enforced. I think a bigger problem is that we cannot lock up the mentally ill very easily, and their families are unable to control them. Only someone totally deranged would kill innocent adults and little kids. I'm so sick for their families right now.

FFS we got double stupidity here. Mistake 1 being to blame video games, Mistake 2 in that these people all got the wrong guy!

Price of an item I bought on Amazon drops $20 before the box is even opened.

Quick two-sentence email to support saying I'm annoyed. If they don't do anything ah well, I apparently thought it was worth that price before I saw the cheaper one.

Did anyone ever think that Santa is in fact capable of time travel? I mean we never knew of him when he was young. Why? He was born in the future! And he can give all the gifts in one night because he slows down time!

But I don't want to be abolished. :(
Though most people woudn't even notice, there are a few who would miss me.

Besides that, if a woman would do such a thing someone would come and write a song about it and it would definitely be a song I don't like. Similar to songs about mondays. I don't like mondays.

    Here you go.

It should also be noted that men are also more likely to be victims of murders/muggings/most violent crimes. idk

And, yes, their number is INCREDIBLY small in comparison.
  • edited December 2012
Well, no, I don't doubt that. Guns aren't really the weapon of choice for female murderers so much as stuff like poison. Even then, male murderers outnumber women 9 to 1.

I don't really think this has to do with some sort of overarching biological thing so much as a cultural thing, though I very well may be wrong.

I totally agree that it's mostly cultural. In comparison, there's no lack of female terrorists it seems.
There is evidence to suggest that women are more frequently involved in domestic terrorism than international terrorism. No good estimates of numbers exist, but in United States history, women have been very prominently involved in organizations like the Ku Klux Klan, the Weather Underground, the Black Panthers, and the American Nazi Movement. In fact, if we categorize a new type of terrorism, called "racial terrorism" as Blee (2005) defines it, we find women represented in large numbers, and increasing their numbers annually. Cunningham (2003) and Blazak (2004) come to the same conclusion about this alarming trend.

But the kind of running amok as encountered in western civilization, that's a 'male thing'.
