    Today.

I'm not sure why this is in the ToMI forum.
  • edited May 2010
Figured it related since he did voice acting in Curse.. The moderators will move it if they think it's not the right place..

I didn't know that (never paid much attention to the credits).

    Nevermind.

I recorgnised it and had to use the Ctrl W to check credits to see if I was right.

Wow, I had no idea he was in a MI game... I always loved his performance as Arnold Jackson Drummond.

He had a hard life, RIP Gary, RIP.
  • edited May 2010
Yeah I never knew that either. He did a good job then.

    That's too bad.

Edie McClurg, who is probably best known for her role as Grace the school secretary in Ferris Bueller's Day Off, did the voice for Miss Rivers, the pirate school teacher in EMI.

What the heck is EMI? I have no idea what that is.

Honestly, I couldn't recognize Gary Coleman in CMI. If they do remake CMI (which I think is 50/50 at this point), they'll get a sound-a-like and no-one will notice. Like the new Stan. Well, we noticed, but we didn't mind.

    RIP.

Why would a remake of CMI involve re-recording the spoken dialog at all?

I could see if it were EMI, and they were going to have the SE version include new voice-overs from the "franchise voices" for Elaine and Stan.

I've known Gary Coleman was Kenny Falmouth for ages. I don't remember when I first learned about it, but it was from reading the credits on my 1st, 2nd or 3rd playthrough way back when.

Yah it was weird when i found out he did the voice like a few years ago. i hoped TT would bring him back for tales, but i guess that cant happen now :/

I put it together just today. I'm curious how it happened.

It was an accidental head injury that led to a brain hemorrhage.

It was never cancelled... although many consider it to be the worst MI game in the series... :P

You must be thinking of S&M:FP.

I had a feeling that Gary would do Falmouth in Monkey Island 2 Special Edition: LeChuck's Revenge, but oh well. R.I.P. :(

kenny falmouth want in Monkey Island 2

    Oops. I made a mistake. Sorry! :o

I just noticed that Kenny Falmouth and Curse of Monkey Island are not listed on Gary Coleman's wiki.

Anyway, that's a second voice actor from CoMI gone too soon (the first one was Mary Kay Bergman, who did Minnie Goodsoup. R.I.P. to both of them). 17.gif

Actually, he is the 3rd. If you ever seen the show Angel, the character Doyle was played by a guy named Glenn Quinn. He voiced one of the insult sword fighting pirates, and did a good job. You just have to listen to his voice, and you can figure out pretty easily which pirate he is.

Kay Kuter, who voiced Griswold Goodsoup (and Dockmaster Velasco in Grim Fandango) is also, sadly, no longer with us.

Well it has been almost 13 years since the game came out.... (Can't believe it's been that long since I first played Curse)

Yeah, he died from a drug overdose. :(
Those 9 first episodes of Angel was the best because of him, R.I.P. Glenn Quinn.

I even had a crush on him, when I was younger. :)

Oops! I forgot that Kathleen Freeman (as Madame Xima) died too, so that makes it 5 CoMI voice actors gone now. :(

I hate to bring a topic back, but I read that authorities have ruled that Gary Coleman's death was an accident. This feels like closure now.
