Surround Sound (Issues/Existance)

One review I read spoke of how great the surround sound is in Tales. I am only getting stereo from my setup. Is my setup wrong, am I missing an option or is this guy's system just upmixing and he is confused? I am running an on board Asus "X-FI" (not a real X-FI Chip) with Windows 7 x64.

Thanks!

I don't know any difference between surround sound and sound. I just hear it.

Well, you'd notice a definite difference if you had a surround sound setup.

The Highway: I have no idea how that post was supposed to be in any way helpful.

MusicallyInspired: As I said, I do have a surround setup, I am just asking if the game supports it or if I possibly had something configued wrong. So again, just you're adding to noise to the s2n ratio.

I tried in XP also, I got something when I told the creative drivers to put things in pseudo surround mode (CMSS-3D or whatever) but nothing otherwise. I am starting to assume there is no true surround on Tales and the reviewer was mistaken.
If anyone would like to chime in with some actual information and not just a post with their own links at the bottom I would appreciate it. :p

Tales of MI (and all Telltale games) is in stereo. We don't yet have surround support in any of our games. The reviewer you read was mistaken. I mean, I'm glad, I guess, that they were somehow fooled into thinking such a thing, but no, we're stereo only.

Post a link to or an excerpt from the review please? I wanna know what exactly what was said.

MusicallyInspired: Doh! (Sorry for the ribbing sir) That makes what you said so much more on topic.

I think I might have just found it while searching for Tales and surround sound, just to see.

    That's what I'm here for!

Some speakers (my Logitech set can do it - although it might be a Windows configuration, I'm not sure) will take stereo audio and try to transfer it into surround, such as channelling speech out of one speaker. Perhaps the reviewer mistook this for true surround support.
