SCUMM VM Problems

I added Day of the Tentacle and Full Throttle to SCUMM VM, and I've had some unusual problems with both.

In the case of Tentacle, I cannot hear the dialogue, in the case of Full Throttle, the dialog during conversations with other characters is automatically skipped. What do I do to fix these problems?

You should really ask at the scummvm.org forums, I think I remember reading about some recent problems with Full Throttle.

You running it on PC or another platform, and what version it is, 1.1 or earlier?

Are you playing the floppy disk or CD version of DOTT? Because I think only the CD version has voices.

Full throttle sounds like a sound driver issue or bad settings in scummvm.
DoTT: only cd version has spoken dialogue.

Not all of DoTT is voiced either. Only the intro bits.

All of it is voiced. When it's people (or tentacles, or horses) speaking.

My version only had voice in the first bit. That being said, I got mine off the internet on some weird abandonware site. You can't buy DoTT anymore.

Should have got it off emuparadise, but at the time they didn't have Scumm games.

If it has voice in all of it, I'm definitely gonna replay it on my DS.

First things first, get the latest scummvm from their site. you'd be surprised how many bugs they fix every day. The DOTT problem is probably floppy version that only had voices in cutscenes (about 15mb overall, if i'm not mistaken. the full version should be around 140mb.) The problem with full throttle seems to be an old bug where the speech would still be on even if the sound is set to "subtitles only". the game think the speech is off, so it doesn't wait for it to finish before moving on to the next line. this was fixed a few months ago.

Yes. I have DOTT with full voices. Get the CD version, not the floppy version.

There is someone selling the CD version in a sleeve on eBay for 40 bucks, but idk if you care about getting the original box.

So, what you're saying is that he/she needs to update their version of ScummVM...

I have it on the CD version.

What version of ScummVM do you use?

I actually fixed the DOTT problem. I still have the same problem with Full Throttle, though. I use Version 1.1.148874
