What's with all the PS3 love lately? Are they making up for all the 360 favouring beforehand? I'd love to have these games on the 360. I doubt I will ever buy very much from the PSN store as you have to pay tax twice in my area for anything. Once to get the retail money card, and once when you actually buy an item on the PSN store. Retarded. I'm not paying tax twice let alone for a digital download.

I guess they're just playing catchup now. There's 4 series on the Wii, 3 on XBLA, and just 1 on PSN.

Tales of Monkey Island as a Single Game eh? Sounds good! Plus Trophies, Plus I get to play it on the big screen again along with Sam & Max, I like this a lot, thanks TellTale, let's hope it's out in Europe at the same time.

Hmmmmmm...I wonder if it's worth playing through this again for Trophies.

XBox is for losers, PS3 has TROPHIES!!! Not the evil "achievments".

Oh boy! MI for PS3, my life is looking up!

The PS3 is now the console to get if you're a Monkey Island fan, ...and you don't have a PC. With SOMI: SE on there, MI2: SE coming soon and now TOMI, that three Monkey Island games you can get on the PS3, along with Sam & Max Season 3, but the Xbox is still the better choice for that as Season 1 and 2 are on there.

Hey, does anyone know if this is going to be one game with 5 chapters, like Beyond Time and Space, or 5 seperate games, like The Devil's Playhouse?
  • edited June 2010
Are you talking about TMI? If so, there is no "going to be". It's been done for months. And it's 5 chapters of a whole storyline. Even moreso than the first two Sam & Max games.

So the Devil's Playhouse episodes have nothing to do with eachother this time around?
  • edited June 2010
Well, each chapter of The Devil's Playhouse counts as a different game on the PSN, and each one has a different trophy list. But the Sam and Max seasons on XBLA are each one big game that only has one achievement list for the entire season.

Like Sam & Max. Individual "games"
  • edited June 2010
Any chance of a rerelease for XBLA as a big game? Or if you could get in to something like what Family Game Night is, where it's a base game, and you buy certain chapters from there.

Which would work like this: Want season? Buy full game now, get DLC for free of future episodes. Want individual eps? Download hub, buy individual ep.

That'll never fly with Microsoft. They make Valve sell add-on campaigns to Left 4 Dead customers on XBL while Steam users get it all free. Or maybe Microsoft just charges them themselves.
  • edited June 2010
Well, Microsoft has to cover bandwidth, I guess.
  • edited June 2010
PSN does better in Europe, and adventure games does better in Europe too. I see it now.

Do you know, how silly you sound? Trophies are just copy of Achievements? After PS3 was released there were no Trophies afrer year or two they added them with patch. Well, you are idiot, you know :-).

I don't know why they wont release it on XBLA. Maybe they just feel they own something to PSN. But Sam & Max series on Xbox Live Arcade sold over 30,000 copies. Every copy cost 20 bucks. I think that to developers goes most of the money (I hope), so they made over 500,000 dolars just by converting the game on another system.
  • edited June 2010
They're probably just releasing these on the PSN because, so far, the PS3 is their most neglected system.

Are you reading? THEY DO CHARGE, JUST ALL AT ONCE.

Wallace & Gromit's "episodes" didn't really come out in episodic form on 360. It was one episode, then another, then all the final episodes all at once a little while after the PC version finished up.

Again, read. Wallace is done. This is a different approach that may/may not work.

No, they don't charge on Steam for add-ons. They're free. The Passing for L4D does not cost anything extra.

And you can play escape if the PS3 can play PS2 games.

That was your example, not mine.

I feel that the game scripts that I have written for all five chapters of Tales of Monkey Island for GameFAQs may be updated for the PS3 version soon. I will show them to you later once I update them.

You're not making any sense. You have to pay for add-ons on XBox Live. They're free on Steam. What are you trying to say? What I was trying to explain is that DLC are not and never will be free on XBox Live.

    Its up!
I am downloading the demo from the US psn store as I will probably wait till it comes to the UK store.
    ---
I impressed with the controls, they have changed them to match the sam and max ps3 controls (including how the inventory is set out).

Woot! Earl Boen as LeChuck in Launch of the Screaming Narwhal :D
Very cool, loving playing ToMI again on the PS3
  • edited June 2010
Very good very smooth. And Earl Boen is nice!
  • edited June 2010
I bought the game twice and I am still waiting for the DVDs + merchandise to arrive... don't I deserve a free download code for the PS3 version? :-)

    I second that! :D
  • edited June 2010
ah crap.. Don't get me wrong, nice that PS3 users get the game, just that I was hoping for a XBLA release too.

Hate these exclusive things on the consoles, always have, always will
  • edited June 2010
But it won't be exclusive forever. They want all their games on all platforms. These things take time.
  • edited June 2010
Ah its good to see that Europe will be getting it today when the psn store finally updates.
I really shouldn't get it as I have the dvd coming soon for pc. Its £14 on psn so I think im going to end up buying it just so I can play it with ease on my tv.
  • edited June 2010
Will there be some kind of an exclusive like that toy in The Devil's Playhouse?

As soon as someone in Europe sees it up on PSN, could you send me a PM? I'd love to have it post to our twitter feed, but I want to make sure it is up and running first. Thanks!
  • edited June 2010
It's up on the UK Store, I've had it downloaded about 3 hours ago, should be up on Irelands store to!
  • edited June 2010
Yep its out!! Man...I've bought TOMI 3 times now. PC/Wii/PS3 lol.

Must say I'm impressed with the PS3 version, as well as the changes to make it more console friendly.

Graphics are good, everything runs very smoothly and the audio is top notch in this version. Well done!!

Oh and Earl Boen....YES!! Funny that I get to hear it on PS3 before my DVD arrived. (sigh)

Awesome, thanks guys! I'll pass the word along to the web team.
  • edited June 2010
German PSN has it as well now.
  • edited June 2010
I grabbed the PS3 version and having played through the intro, I must say, so far this is easily one of the best ports Telltale has done. Great job.
  • edited June 2010
I've played the demo and it seems to be a nice and clean port. The new inventory system is really quicker to use than the PC-version's... uhm... version.

    Oh, and Earl Boen ROCKS!!
