Chapter 5: reverse recipe help

I can't seem to get the "entirely tasteless gum" from the ceiling of the jail cell... it just keeps saying that it's completely tasteless? is there something i need to grab it with or is this a glitch?

P.S. I have PS3 Version

    Sounds like a glitch to me.
    EDIT: did you do the other parts first.

    You have to talk to Galeb first (in the last 1/4 of the game) to get the reversed recipe. Then Guybrush will know to take it. :)
