crappy gameplay lag

:mad:anyone else experiencing big time lag / mouse movement delay?
I've been finding that everything seems to be running really slow...shouldn't be my computer as it's a 2.4 gig quad core processor...?
Really frustrating as I'm a HUGE lifetime Monkey Island fan and would hate for this game experience to ruin that...

Erm, hey, welcome to the forums!

Erm... may I ask what kind of videocard do you have?

You can change the graphics setting in the options. It defaults at the highest setting your computer is capable of, which usually way too high. Experiment a bit.

Also note that the first scene is pretty graphics heavy because of the rain effect. The game becomes a lot less graphics-hungry after the first scene.

I had a 2.4 gig processor as well when I first played TOMI, even with an extra graphic card. I experienced the lag thing too, but only in the menu. As a temporary solution, set the detail level down to, say, 5-6, often you don't have to go lower than that. Choosing a lower resolution might help, too, but that'll make the game look really crappy.

What you really should do though is check for the newest drivers of your graphic card and get the DirectX Webinstaller - that last one solved the problem for me and I could play without problems at quality set to 9.

Video card drivers often have performance improvements, so updating those should have a noticeable effect.
