What character voice-overs are you most looking forward to for MI2 SE?
Just so the remastered music thread doesn't get too messy, I've decided to make this a seperate thread. So, what voice-overs are you most looking forward to. Personally, my choice of music pretty much goes with the voice-acting, as I am looking forward to the bone song played and sung, and I am excited for the captain dread theme, and I want to hear his voice As for woodtick, I guess I want to hear more of largo's voice, and see how Mad Marty sounds.

Hmmm... I'm curious regarding Guybrush's parents too! Small but VERY important roles!
Oh yeah! I love that little guy. As for Guybrush's parents, I have suspicions its Dominic Armato and Alexandra Boyd putting on older voices. Knowing me though, I'm probably wrong.
Others I can't wait to hear is Wally, Kate Capsize, and the Governor(?) of Phatt Island. And for some strange reason, the man who sticks his arm out the door.
Also looking forward Wally's voice...
After hearing your version of Lechuck's theme, I would be interested to see what your interpretation of the bone song is like.
Very glad LucasArts convinced Neil Ross to return as Wally, looking forward to talking with him again. I previously wanted Nicki Rapp to voice Kate Capsize, and Kate's voice in the behind the scenes video sounds near enough to Nicki's voice for me.
The voice acting sounds pretty much spot on in this game, not to mention this sounds like it may be the best performances yet from Dom, Earl and Alexandra.
And the Bone Song...
And of course everything Dom says.
That, and because I'm always looking forward to the villain's perfomance in a game.
You know what would be good? If we could get an interview with Earl Boen! We know how both Dom and Alexandra feel about their part in these games but we've never heard what Earl thinks, and considering he's pretty much one of the main characters, who even got dragged back for Tales after an attempt was made to replace him, it would be interesting to hear his side and what he thinks of the role!
PSYCH!
I'm actually looking forward to Largo the most. I like who they got. Even if it's not Moe Howard.
That's a good point! Anyone planning on doing that anytime soon?
I'll certainly look into it.
DEFINATELY:
Dominic Armato - Guybrush Threepwood
Earl Boen - LeChuck
Alexandra Boyd - Elaine Marley
Lelani Jones Wilmore - The Voodoo Lady
Patrick Pinney - Stan
Jarion Monroe - Largo LaGrande
Neil Ross - Wally
Phil LaMarr - Captain Dread
Wally Wingert - Herman Toothrot/Franklin, Man of Low Moral Fiber
William Katsen - Booty Island Antique Dealer
Roger L. Jackson - Governer Phatt/Fink/Freddie, Man of Low Moral Fiber/Jojo The Monkey/Rat?
Denny Delk - Narrator
PRESUMABLEY/POSSIBLY:
Patrick Hallahan - Phineas, Man of Low Moral Fiber
Nicki Rapp - Kate Capsize
Huh?
Now was this the guy who voiced stan in curse and secret se the guy who voiced stan in escape or the guy who voiced sam in Tales(he had a lot of voice actors and none of them even sounded a like)
The V/A in the behind the scenes sounds close enough to her, plus Kate Capsize was a strong candidate for the mystery character at the end of TMI-1. I'd love it to be her.
And yeah, Patrick Pinney is the voice of Stan in SMI:SE and Curse.
Just realised that now all of the voices from SMI:SE to CMI have the same cast. That's pretty impressive given that MI2 and CMI are 13 years apart. And done backwards!
I agree about the narration. I'm a fan of Denny Delk's work, but the concept of having the narrative text read aloud is a mistake, I think. Simply displaying it on screen lets you get exposition without breaking the fourth wall. Disembodied narrator in Monkey Island context reminds me somehow of the Peter Falk/Fred Savage scenes in The Princess Bride.
Actually, I felt similar. I didn't find Denny Delk's voice a perfect match for a narrator (or maybe the voice itself was okay but the intonation was sometimes off...)
I think it was a combination of both. He said the lines way too dramatically and I also don't believe his voice was the right choice. Even if he didn't say them as dramatically I still can't picture how it would sound if tried to make it spookier, I think it would still be off. I think Craig Derrick even made a comment in an interview once for the second special edition that no one really liked the voice at all, so why they got the same guy is a little confusing. Anyway, that's really just me nitpicking and really doesn't bother me too much. It's the only real thing I could find that I didn't like from the first one.
"Scabb Island" really sounds bad. It sounds like: "Oh, I got a line! I got a line! I have to make it sound special and different, no matter what!"
Lol, well said. That pretty much describes how it sounds perfectly.
You don't think Allison Ewing would do the Voodoo Lady, or that Gavin Hammond (sp?) would do Stan again?
As far as I know, Ewing was only the Voodoo Lady in Tales because a: Telltale could not afford Lelani Jones, or b: Lelani Jones did not want to commit to recording monthly. Ewing worked as the Voodoo Lady in Tales, but I'm sure they wouldn't have used her if they had the chance to use the original actress, for continuity's sake. Same principle with Stan, Patrick Pinney has an impressive resume (notabley being the singer of the "Spongebob Squarepants" theme song!), so he was likely out of the budget that Telltale were willing to work with, but still, Gavin did a great job all the same. (Just finished playing TMI4 this second, so these voices are fresh in mind! )
