Problem With A Gift Of Mine.

I've tried searching to see if anyone has encountered this dilemma before, but unfortunately my internet skills are failing me, so if this has been answered I apologize.

Last winter, I received as a gift from my brother Tales Of Monkey Island. Obviously the DVD was not even a pre-order at that time so I just received the downloads as my gift with the promise that when the DVD was released, I'd only have to pay shipping. Here is my problem. The games are associated with my brother's account, and not mine. Therefore I would need to order the disc from his account.

I have tried logging into his account several times with absolutely no luck, even though I'm sure I'm using the right username and password. He even gave me that username and password to use, so if it's not the right one, I doubt he knows the real one. He doesn't play games, and only opened the Telltale account to send me my gift, and that was months ago.

I guess what I'm asking is if there's any way for me to link the games I got as a gift with my Telltale account so that I can order my disc? I really don't want to have to try to play safecracker with my brother's account, assuming it even exists anymore.

Anyone have any ideas on how to solve this?

How exactly did you download the games if they aren't linked to your account already?

Yeah, exactly. The games are linked to his account and I received them. I actually can't remember now exact details since this happened back in December, like I said, but what I remember is having to go into his account because the lummox, God love him, forgot to click the link to send the gift to me so I had to send it myself. But afterward the games were still part of his account and never showed up in mine. I can't remember how I exactly received them though now. I want to say by e-mail. Sorry if I'm being sketchy on this part.

Sounds like the gifting process didn't go through at all then. Yeah, it's possible that you got the download links through e-mail from your brother, as the games can be downloaded by anyone. It's just the activation that requires a valid account linked to the downloaded game. You'd probably have to have Telltale take the games off his account and put them on yours to solve this, but that's probably not something they'd do without your brother's consent, and even then, I'm not sure what they can do, as they are probably activated with his account. You'd have to hear with the Telltale staff to know for sure though.

    bamse, that makes no sense.

starseed, the games show up here, right? Contact support if you haven't already and wait for a response. (should take up to a few weeks, due to ticket overload)

No, they don't if what he wrote here is correct:

If they did show up there he wouldn't be having problems ordering the DVD at all, as he could just copy the serial number and put it into the coupon code field when ordering to get it for free.

Sounds to me like the game has been sitting on his brother's account all along. What about it doesn't make sense?

Oh, I misread earlier because he said "and I recieved them".

ToMI's DVD doesn't use an order number field, it detects automatically, so no, he can't just order it.

I don't even know if my brother's account exists anymore. I've tried all three of his e-mail addresses and I can't even get a password change going, which is weird, because you'd think I'd be able to if the account is still there.

If you have the order number, Customer service might be able to unlink it from your brother's account and attach it to your account. Really you just need to put in a ticket and ask support what your options are.

Well I'm an idiot. Apparently my brother has a fourth e-mail address that I didn't realize he had, and that was the right e-mail address, so his account still exists. I won't even try to save face here, I will just thank you all, bid you adieu and you will never see me again.
