I'm a huge German fan and I'm not expecting / waiting for a German release at all. If it's coming, it's coming, if it's not, it's not the end of the world. Have you given the English version at least a try?

Different times, different company. Unless their two German interns can translate and re-voice the game all by themselves, I'm guessing Telltale just plain doesn't have the resources to do an alternate language version of the game.

They said there would be subtitles in other languages than English at some point in the future, but I don't think there'll be a dub.

That would be hilarious and awesome.

he doesn't know who that is or how he sounds. He is used to another voice actor for Guybrush.

I've got this original version and a downloaded patch that translates it -only subtitles- into my Spanish mother language. Maybe you could find some group that has translated it into German. They did a very nice job with the Spanish patch so I could enjoy ToMI hearing Dominic Armato but reading my own language.

While the translation was poor since Boris Schneider left the company, CMI had still good voice acting in German. It was almost as good as the original voice acting, imho. EMI on the other hand was horrible with German voice actors. It sounds more like read from some paper with no emotions at all, while the original voice acting was great. If Tales will get that sort of dubbing, I don't need it for sure. And after Sam & Max season 2, I have little hope.

The best localized voice acting I've heard in a game was Grim Fandango. Even the translation was adequate. It is the only game where I actually prefer the German version over the original.

    MI5 hasn't come out yet.

If this is in reference to Tales being "MI6", then I suggest you go watch the DVD commentary for Narwhal.

Oh darnit. I haven't seen that yet. Is my pedantry outdated?

Yeah, I'd say Telltale has effectively buried that dead horse.

That's what happened back with Curse and Escape. I would like a Spanish dub too. But I think that telltale is not able to do that. Too much money. So, official subtitles could be awesome.
