Monkey Island crochet
(I think this is an okay place to post this, but if it's not, just let me know!)
So...I'm a big Monkey Island fan (sort of a given being on this forum, I guess). And I started crocheting last summer, so I thought it'd be a good idea to combine my interests and crochet Guybrush Threepwood! This would be a straightforward task except that Guybrush seems to go through a decent physical transformation between his adventures. The only viable solution, of course, was to make all five.
(I have picture comparisons of the game versions vs. mine in my forum album - I just didn't want to make this post too picture heavy!)
I had a really fun time making these guys! I especially enjoyed shaping the hair for the final three games. I thought I'd share them here since I figured people might enjoy them, and since this is pretty much the coolest gathering of Monkey Island fans on the web. (I've been frequenting Telltale's forums for almost 4 years now...I just don't post a lot)
And yeah, the gold design on ToMI Guybrush's jacket is actually accurate to the game. And it took forever...

I think the TMI one is my favourite.
My only problem is that the first three shouldn't be 3D. I want accuracy! DEFY THE LAWS OF PHYSICS! BE YOUR OWN BOSS! SCREW NEWTON! REPENT![/rant]
Yeah. I couldn't see anything wrong with them either. Can I have one? For free?[/beg]
Now, if you feel like sharing the figures themselves, I will happily take them off your hands!
Sorry, I'm not as subtle as Tom or MacFly77...
Yeah, those are googly eyes on the last three - I first tried to give them the same basic black-yarn-in-a-knot eyes that I gave the first two, but they looked sort of creepy that way...O.o So, yeah, googly eyes!
Oh no! I can't believe I missed that! Stupid third dimension, always getting in the way...
me 2 its soooooooooo cute
np: Pawel - Crillon (Pawel)
* Crochet and croquet are pretty similar words in English (while the Norwegian hekling and krokket are easily distinguishable), and neither are in my day to day English vocabulary.
Haha, don't worry, I had the same thought!
They're brilliantly done! So cute, and so jealous I don't have 5 little Guybrushes.
(this night nemesis try to make one, but the ``failed experiment´´ fly out the window...)
So, love them, thanks for sharing ^_^.
