Tales of Monkey Island - Season 2?
Hi,
I am really sorry if I'm being and idiot, and this has been answered a lot and I just haven't found it, but is there any kind of ETA for the next season of Tales of Monkey Island? I mean we're almost done with Sam n Max and I really am enjoying that as well and all, but I am really craving more Tales.
So... any news? I'm even willing to take inaccurate guesstimates if they're from the right people.

More seriously, at this point, no plans have been announced by Telltale for a potential second season.
While it is fair to assume that there is a good chance of a second season seeing the light of day in a somewhat near future (after all, Tales of Monkey Island is Telltale's most successful game to this day), you have to remember that the rights to Monkey Island belong to LucasArts and that ultimately, the future of the franchise is in their hands.
We can only hope...
My Guesstimate: July 2012 (with Back to the Future, Jurassic Park, the first season of Puzzle Agent and the 6 episodes of their newest franchise Rest of the Week of the Tentacles, Telltale will be too busy in 2011). Not positive about 2012, but July seems like a good month for Monkey Island (July 2009: TOMI and The Secret of Monkey Island: SE; July 2010: LeChuck's Revenge: SE).
What is that?
Yea I thought it was a joke, but you know its hard to get sarcasm/jokes through posts sometimes.
he had a very official sounding title for it, so it can be forgiven for believing
However Tales did have a bit of an open ending so I'm hoping that there are plans for a second season at least.
potato potarto
I don't understand that expression, who pronounces potato like potarto?
lazy song writers
Hopefully not after they've seen what TTG created with it last year.
They'll make another season.
Me neither.
Right now I play MI 2:SE, never played it before.
The replay value of MI games isn´t the highest either even if they´re great games.
You play trough them, really enjoy it and then you longing for more:D
I replay the MI games often.
Me too. Can't agree at all that they don't have replay value. Especially not MI2.
OK, I was thinking about play Tales monkey again because I hav´nt played it since the releases last summer, so maybe I have forgotten some parts.
But then again I already knows what gonna happen, so it wont be that fun:o
Yeah, okay, that's another thing. Sure the first time you play a game it's mainly about finding out what to do next to progress and looking forward to what's gonna happen in the next cutscene and that's a one time experience.
When replaying a game, I like to try out different things, which, in all of the MI games, you can do a lot, in order to discover easter eggs or details you weren't aware of the first time you played it.
While doing so, you can solve the puzzles in any order you want most of the time, that's a nice touch, too, and adds to the replay value of a game.
I almost hope they're planning a prequel to stick between Escape and Tales.
But I want Tales sequel too
I want it all!
Me too! I had waited and waited and waited...for 10 years to see a new game of Monkey Island since the Escape from the Monkey Island. Please don't let me wait another ten years!
Writing under to that, the series is so popular, nobody wants to wait for 10 years to go again.
Or let's put it this way:
- Sam n Max season 3
- Back to the future and Jurassic park
- Tales of Monkey Island 2
If I look at that with my head upside down, it looks better to me.
Tales is technically Monkey Island 5 - You would think the next game would be a new one.
Apparently Tales exceeded sales expectations so I would expect another game at some point in the next few years.
