Is there a way to turn off subtitles in classic mode of MI2 SE?

Just wondering. Thanks.

Fans: "we want speech in classic mode!"
    LucasArts: "here you go!"
Fans: "we want to turn off subtitle in classic mode!"

    What next?

Fans: "We want classic mode to be special edition mode!"

    :D

    Seriously, I have no idea.

I swear the subtitles in Classic Mode have been altered - I always remember laughing when Elaine says "I'd better get over there..." and the subtitle follows her across the room. That doesn't happen in the Special Edition. :S

I just meant I was wondering if there was already a way to turn off the subtitles. I wasn't complaining for lucasarts to release another patch.

Sometimes I've tried clicking a object that gives a generic "Nice" responce in the special edition rapidly (like a box), whilst switching to and from classic mode rapidly, and sometimes, the subtitles in classic mode say "Nice box". So it seems like the original game's subtitles were left untampered, but the special editions new files are causing it to say something else, which of course, is just "Nice!".

Also, anybody notice that if you look at the mirror in classic mode, the subtitles say "I feel pretty." but Guybrush says "That is a nice looking beard!". I realise this must've been a copyright thing, but it's interesting how this one slipped past the programmers.

I wonder if they put the Steve Purcell comic line back in when looking at the costume in classic mode.

And no, you can't turn subtitles off.
