So, what is a shivress?

Yeah, i have just got my Voodoo cards and i'd appreciate an explanation about that. I'm not an english speaker and I can't find the word anywere. I understand it means some kind of... shadow assassin or something, yes? Does the word have any relationship with "shiver", like in "that ninja pirate over there is making me shiver"? (ok, that was lame) Anyway, i'd rather someone could tell me the actual meaning, more than further speculation, if possible. Thank you!

    A shiv is any kind of blade used as a weapon... "Shivress" seems to be a made-up word (possibly invented by somebody at Telltale, since google comes up with almost nothing), using the -ress suffix as in seamstress or waitress, to refer to this woman who apparently uses a shiv as part of her profession
