SOMI/TOMI Inconsistency

One thing that I've been wondering lately is an inconsistency that I have observed about the role of root beer on ghosts. In LCR, it was pretty much implied that the root beer destroyed LeChuck's spirit for ie, his ghost. However, in Rise of the Pirate God, when demon Elaine sprays ghost Guybrush with the voodoo root beer, his ghost only evaporates in the physical realm and goes back to the Crossroads. How is this inconsistency explained?

Well, In Lechuck's Revenge, it's possible that Lechuck had been back as a ghost for a while, but didn't make contact with Guybrush because he know Guybrush could evaporate him, so he commissioned Largo to find a living part of his body to revive his body so he could be safe from being evaporated by Root Beer.

TMI implies that LeChuck was not destroyed at the end of SMI, but rather banished to the crossroads until he was brought back as a zombie in MI2.

I assumed that since you can't die twice, you just return to the crossroads, like when you die. I don't see a big inconsistency here.

It's a different story with LeChuck claiming that he became a ghost after discovering Big Whoop.

big whoop gave him his powers he has now but he used the spell in crossroads to escape and since the monkeys wernt in place he couldnt use it a 2nd time when guybush killed him in SMI so had to be brought back as a zombie

the voodoo lady said guybrush destroyed his spirit form, even though that makes no sense. If his spirit is gone then he can't be resurrected, as his spirit needs to repossess his dead body, just like guybrush did in tales, and like lechuck did in lechuck's revenge, even though it was a voodoo priest that did it.
