    This got me.
    Have you looked around using Max's legs?
    If so, you may have spotted a character...
    Try heading towards the lights as Max
    Once you find a familiar location and see a familiar character, head to the brain
    One of the characters you see on the TV should be able to help you
    If you want to get Sal on board, you'll need to convince Max he wants him
    Wasn't there a place earlier showing something that Max wants?
    It's the corn dog plate in the stomach
    Do you have anything you could put there to make Max want to pick up Sal?
    Swap the corn dog for Max Jr.

    a quick way is go to the stomach, then use the sam jr cockroach on the platter, then control giant max and walk straight up and then there will be a cutscene with giant max eating sal. Then talk to Sal and that's it.
