Where's the original post for this code? Maybe if it would've been made clear to everybody how this worked, it wouldn't have been a problem. Should've posted this on your Twitter, for example. I had a friend just send me the page link to W&G and the code, and said "Hey, Telltale's giving this away for free today!" So I thought, "Damn, Telltale just keeps getting more awesome. Those guys rock." If I knew I was supposed to buy something to get this, I probably would have; I've had a good opinion of Telltale for a while.
Instead, now I'm agitated by this free gift being taken away without any explanation (the least you could do is send an email to everyone who used the code to say "Hey, this wasn't supposed to be like this. Sorry.") So yeah, no W&G DVD, which really sucks. Was looking forward to the extra animation shorts.
But the other confusing thing is that I already downloaded and installed the games, and I can play them. So.... what was the point of deleting them from our accounts exactly?

It was never a free gift, nobody from telltale ever said it was a free gift. You just said yourself you never saw the original post. once again- Wallace and Gromit was never free from the start, the banner read: Wallace & Gromit's Grand Adventures Retail DVD FREE with any purchase! (regularly $19.95)
Free Shipping with any purchase over $50.
If you didn't have something else in your cart and didn't buy anything else today the order canceled itself.
I gave our forum members the code so it would force add, but many people decided to abuse this which didn't matter because our system deleted those orders.
If you didn't abide the rules of the sale you are not going to get anything.
It was the deal of the day and was announced like any other with a big banner in the 30 days of Christmas deals page explicitly saying that it was free with the purchase of something else, the code was only given away because for some reason the deal was not working like it should.
I never gave anyone a code for just free stuff: once again- Wallace and Gromit was never free from the start, the banner read: Wallace & Gromit's Grand Adventures Retail DVD FREE with any purchase! (regularly $19.95)
Free Shipping with any purchase over $50.

That's just so great. If you'd get a code from someone and you enter it and everything works fine you would still order other stuff because it's right? I don't think so. As I already told you in my e-Mail I had planned to buy other stuff (Poker Game) and tried it many many times with your not working deal of the day - only after this didn't work and I found the code I entered the games and the coupon - since it worked that way I thougt it would be o.k.
But don't bother to TELL anyone that the code although working is only valid for one day if you don't do as the offer told you...If I'd paid as much as 1ct. there would be a valid contract which you broke...since I did't pay anything there is no valid contract but it still is not nice. Do you really think that I wanted to not spend 5$? No - but - as I told you before - everything seemed to be working and I could not know (because it was only a workaround from your side) that you'd do such a mean thing to a true customer (check your account, I've paid all my last games). This is not a behaviour to keep customers happy and I don't know If I want to buy where the seller does just what he likes and doesn't care for the customer.
Oh - and thank you for calling me abusive!
And here's the code first mentioned by you:
"And todays special is not working for some reason so please use this coupon code. "
No word on "Please buy other stuff too as written in the offer - else everything ordered will be gone the next day"
I don't think Amy was saying YOU abused the code. Like I said earlier, just one of many examples of the abuses being done were 7-10 DVDs being added to orders with no shipping fee. Shipping is roughly 6 dollars for one DVD. The phrase 'one bad apple spoils the barrel' comes to mind.
Totally anecdotally, I've placed orders on items at huge retailers such as Amazon, Barnes & Noble, Target, etc. and due to an error on their part, pricing or availability was wrong. More often than not, the order was simply cancelled and that was that.

THIS is the information I was asking about. Like I said, a friend just sent me the link and the code, and said it was free. I had seen nothing else about any deal on W&G from Telltale otherwise yesterday. According to Twitter, this was the deal yesterday: "Today's 30 Days of Telltale deal: Making a triumphant reprise, the Deluxe Edition of Tales of Monkey Island is $19.95! http://bit.ly/bQLt0V"
That's why I was asking where the original post about this code is, so that I could look at it and see "Yeah, it was really meant to do this, and people abused it." Then I would be able to see your point. I simply asked for a link.

Just an email...

No, I wasn't in. Please do not try to presume my schedule or when I should reply.

I am not judging anyone though. I was tempted to do the same, I just came to a different decision.
