fatal conspiracey case #2 glitch???/

I have read all the walkthroughs and they all say to scan the fingerprint taken from the suicide note and it should be a match to the boss... i have done this 6times and each time it came back nothing. i restarted the game and its doing the same thing..... am i doing something wrong or is this a glitch.... please help or my living room is gonna resemble a crime seen soon.
