    How can you say that? Fries and mayonnaise are made for each other!

    The problem is, as far as I've heard, that mayonnaise tastes completely different in America, from the mayonnaise we're used to in, say, the Netherlands and Belgium. Personally, I like to ruin at least half my diners by adding mayonnaise to it B-). Makes me look tough and gets me respect from especially little people.

    Additionally, it seems that in he Netherlands, mayonnaise is sweeter than the Belgian version, and tastes in fact more like what we call 'Fry Sauce' (frietsaus) in Belgium. Bet you always wanted to know that.

    True... sometimes mayonnaise is in fact called "frietsaus" over here, but I don't notice a lot of differences between the two, apart from a slight change in the recipe (I think it has something to do with the amount of oil used).
