More soundtrack?

What happened to the "big dumps of music prior to release on Telltale's site" plan?

It was a very GOOD plan... :D :D

I think people posting links to that music converter program killed it.

A shame, too, because I want to know what the Official soundtrack is before I make my own playlist.

Actually it's just that things are really busy for the sound guys right now, and Jared hasn't had a lot of time to prep tracks for MP3 release. Hopefully we'll wring a couple out of him soon, but it might be a while yet. Right now he's spending most of his available time doing the actual soundtracks for the games, so it's tough to tell him to put that on hold to bounce and mix some MP3s for the site. Sorry, hang tight though! :(

It turns out that there's a limit to how much caffeine you can give sound people :)
  • edited March 2007
How much? I seem to give them to much... as they fold after 5 gal. per hour...

    5 gal. per hour?

Time out for number ... well.... 2!
  • edited March 2007
that changes... sometimes even number 3...

Here you go! Four new tracks fresh from Jared's computer. (1 more track from Episode 3, 2 tracks from Episode 4, and a preview track from Episode 5)

    Enjoy!
    or don't, if you want

Sweet! Like the store remix, this preview track really brings back the oldschool gaming feel. Starting to count the days now :D

    Yay!!

    But....

By my count there's still ten distinct pieces you've not released, some of which have been a part of all the episodes so far:

    Asylum Exterior
    Driving (original)
Singing version of the Casino song
    Lincoln chase
    Office dream
    Store
    Sybil's office
    Toy Factory
    War Room
    War Song

Not counting the myriad of good cutscene music. Will we ever see it all in soundtrack format?

Like maybe on a "Side B" Playlist?

Oh how wonderful. I'm touched by the beautiful sound from Episode5. Will all the sounds be sid like tunes?! Can we get some more, please? Ahh sweet memories, Ballblazer and others are tuning in my head now too...

And I thought I was old for being able to remember what life was like before the internet was born.

Yes, great stuff. Nostalgic. Special (nowadays). And over all: despite being only "8 bit music", it is STILL very lovely, groovy and catchy. That was an art I always admired in the older games: producing great songs with so less possibilities ;) Espicially the ADLIB tunes in the LucasArts Adventures from Monkey Island 1 to Sam and Max Hit the Road...

i wish i knew how to make a website. if i did, i would post the store mp3, the original driving mp3, the singing version of the casino theme mp3, opening mp3, the Desoto theme mp3, and the asylum intro mp3 on the site.

The problem is that the versions that come with the game aren't the same as are released...

The game versions are often looping, which has to be dealt with.

And I was kindof hoping for a version of the singing mafia theme that was the same length as the instrumental...

Ah the SID was the 8bit soundchip. Very characteristic and warm sound. :O)

Got my DeSoto shirt before the wire, YAY!

Anyhoo, I'm patient because I know you sound guys are feverishly working on the upcoming episodes as we speak, so it's hard for Jared to crank out the songs for the soundtrack as rapidly as the public likes.

Even with Max quelling the masses with a loaded revolver, people still want them. When time permits, the only other songs I'd like to see for the Soundtrack (until Ep. 5 and 6 come out with some killer tunes) are:

Ted E. Bear Mafia-Free Casino Song and the War Song.

But like I said, no hurry, guys, take your time so the tracks come out great rather than haphazardly. After all, haphazardly made equipment is Bosco's job.. or it is Sam's? I forget.

    Bump.

Now that all the development and recording for Season 1 is done, maybe you can squeeze out the remaining tracks?

There are so many left to do...

i really they will put all the good songs online in indtrumental and sung versions . this would be really really great for fans like me. i caught myself several times in the last months humming some of the melodies from the games. was pretty funny for my colleages. ttg take your time. the importatnt thing is when they come out they are in good shape so to say
