With the mind map.

I understand you need to mix the emotions, but I cant seem to get passed the liar.

Can anyone help with what reactions need to be with what picture.

Please explain! I've been stuck in that exact same spot for the last 30 minutes.

I'm stuck too, but at the Expo, because the Past Display doesn't open up.

    What do have to do?

EDIT: Nevermind, I figured it out by myself.

look at the pictures and do what you would think the opposite reaction is.

    for example

edna: you want her to be bad.

cop: you want to be bad.

john wilkes booth: you want to be good.

    etc

How do I get the Past Display to open up? I've been stuck there for an hour now.

There was no specific trigger if I remember. It didnt open up, I know, until after I had the new mind map of emmit

    SPOILER

Bloody green light won't come up for me the second time I try to use the DeLorean!!!

You have to take the train model away from the Future Display. Turns out: It's a skateboard which Marty uses to get to Young Doc's lab.

Just give it a few minutes. Talk to someone.

Dear Martin, I've been walking around and talking to people for over an hour... ;)

Trying to finish the game up so I can review it...

Take one trip to Young Doc's lab, then come back and look again.

Also I gave that cake to just about everyone, I figured it would have something to do with the light but no, nothing.

Tried that about ten times lol I guess I got glitched.

Have you completed the Trixie objective? Or the mind map one? If completing those don't work, I suggest saving and reloading.

Anyone wanna tell me how to get the diamond? For some reason, the hints I'm getting is about the photo album, which I already delivered...

EDIT: Never mind - figured it out... :D

Yeah, I got the diamond and the family album to her, but in order to get the fur you need to do that particular something with the time machine right? I got it to work once but as you probably know, it isn't enough and requires a second go.

I also got the mind map done, so I only have the fur problem to deal with before what I think is the last part of that puzzle.
  • edited April 2011
Hum... lol... that was weird... I got the furs without that little 2nd attempt I mentioned. Guess they weren't as stuck as I thought... or as the game made me believe!
  • edited April 2011
The fur has nothing to do with the time machine. Look at the diorama of Hill Valley of the Past.

Dude, I was trying to be vague in order to avoid spoilers! =D

And the tip system said otherwise. But I tried loading the auto save and it somehow got me unstuck, which I'm thankful.

    ACCEPTED! :)

Somehow my game unstuck itself and I was finally able to finish it! Wow, what a build up for episode five...

...Nah, still can't figure this mood-swinging puzzle out. I get everything that needs to be done, from the valve to the cakes and the generator, but the use of the slides is confusing me. The punchcard doesn't get printed out until you've gone through all the slides, so how can they really have an impact on his mood when you have to look at 'em all anyway? Unless you can get the card to print out some other way? Or am I missing something else? Question mark? :p

This is the first puzzle I've come across for the whole season that frustrated me enough to look for a solution before figuring it out. I'm just certain that I'm missing something that should be plain to see...

EDIT: Moments after I write it, I figure it out! If anyone else is stuck, just be patient. Perhaps finish what you've started in another area... :)

Can someone share where the diamond and fur is? I should of told Doc the Delorean was green after the fact I had the cleanser, but now since I have, it seems as though I am waiting foooooorever for it to come green. Talked to everybody in the expo. Any tips?

***Edit: If you want a hint where to find the diamond, it's either in the "past" or "future". If you'd like one for the fur, the "past" or "future" might not have a need of it***

Solved the issue where the green light isn't green... If you have the cleanser in the Delorean already, take it out, go back to Emmett in the lab and he will then tell you it is missing. Then, go back to the Delorean and it will be green. Not sure if you have to have all of Trixie's stuff out of the way, but I did that before it went green.

I can not figure out where the Jacob's ladder is? Can anyone help with that?
  • edited April 2011
I wonder why "Jacob's ladder" in the hints is on there when there is none..unless they mean in as an expression?
  • edited April 2011
jacob's ladder is song of Huey Lewis and the News but also cant figure what do in games with that....

in mind test, i get hooligan for emmett... almost get it....
  • edited April 2011
    get it...
this is right emotions for every slides:
    - first slide (Edna): negative - you must turn to red bulb light
    - click on Slide Advancer
    - second slide: positive - you must turn to green bulb light
    - click on Slide Advancer
    - third slide: negative - you must turn to red bulb light
    - click on Slide Advancer
    - four slide: positive - you must turn to green bulb light
    - click on Slide Advancer
    - fifth slide: positive - leave green (or you must turn to green bulb light)
    - click on Slide Advancer and you get Degenerate Criminal card

    Have the same problem!
But the light always switches to yellow before i can get the needed reaction!
Do I have go get Emmet in the right mood BEFORE oder AFTER I switch the photos?!?
And do I have to wait untill this stupid record stops playing every time?!?

Great Scott! This is no fun to play!
  • edited April 2011
you do it after. Don't worry about when you switch the photos. Just remember, you need to do 2 negatives or 2 positives before you switch to the next photo.
  • edited April 2011
    Huh? Two?
    Why two???

How did you figure that out?
  • edited April 2011
'That is how the game wants it to work.
Two times is what the hints in the game said.

To get the reaction you want.
  • edited April 2011
Wow, great game design! So the only way to figure out, that you have to do it twice is in the hints?

And the best part - i still don't get it.

First i got 2 negative reactions for Edna - ok
Next, the Killer - 2 positve (the stew and the record) - but the record plays over and over and the stew-stench is also always on!
(if I neutralise it with the bacteria, the negative reaction is gone, right?)

So I'm damned to get positve reactions on and on!:mad::mad:

So how do I get 2 positive reactions without affecting the next slide, which needs two negaive?!?

    Can't solve this.
I activate the switch, then provoce a negative reaction on Emmett but the photo doesn't change!
Can you tell me EXACTLY how to solve this?
It's like an hour I try by myself, but I can't figure it out.

There is a 'Slide Advancer' next to the switch that starts the machine, which is most time hidden behind the stew pot...

    OKAY, i figured it out!
I doesn't mind which emotion you got on the slide, as long as there are enough negative or positive reactions! You can kill 2 positive reactions with 3 negative reactions! WTF!
Is this how it's supposed to work? This makes no sense at all!

simple, use 2x times crank or valve on fish tank....
  • edited April 2011
It's not the number of reactions, it's the color of the light of Emmett's helmet that matters. It's just that the smells and record persist - after you change the slides, it'll default to yellow and then immediately go redder if the bacteria smell is present, and greener if the stew smell is present or the record is on. (The bacteria smell and record will, in fact, cancel each other out and make him start the slide at yellow.)

    Possitive: Stew and Trixie's Song
Negative: Fish Tank Valve and Generator Lightning

The only important color is the color that is active when you press the "Advance Slide" switch, you can play with the colors but only the last one is the one that matters.

Jacobs Ladder is the generator, A Jacob's ladder is a special arc device with a "V"-shaped electrode arrangement
