Escape from Monkey Island on PS2 won't load saved game

I bought playing Escape from Monkey Island on
the PS2. I played it for a while then saved and quit. I turned it back on later and the game said that I didn't have a memory card in. I even tried it with another memery card and had the same problem. There is nothing wrong with the memory cards or my PS2. Is anybody else having this problem?

    Nope, don't have that problem at all with my PS2 version.....
