Your Personal Nightmare Fuel
So I was reading the recent Cracked article on scary kids movie moments
(as seen here: http://www.cracked.com/article_19265_9-traumatizing-moments-from-classic-kids-movies.html)
And I thought sharing what sharing our Nightmare Fuel experiences could be quite fun.

I'll admit not much scared me as a kid, AW WHO AM I KIDDING! I WAS A GREAT BIG SCAREDY CAT!! (Still am! XD)
Movies:
Bill and Ted's Bogus Journey:
The Easter Bunny
That thing is freaky man! Its....just.... not... right...
Especially this specific bit where all the bad memories are chasing them.
The Mummy:
Imhotep
Yeah, this was back when CGI was only at its infancy, but it was well done enough to terrify little me at least! XD
Willy Wonka and the Chocolate Factory:

The boat ride.
Who wasn't afraid of that!
TV series:
Spiderman (the 90s version):
I always avoided the intro and a few select episodes.
Its obvious why:

Silly now, but Venom is more scary than awesome to a young kid.
Videogames:
Soul Edge:

Also. Judge Doom from Who Framed Roger Rabbit. ESPECIALLY during the final fight. Those eyes and that voice... Guuuuuuh. Still creeps me out....
Freaked me right the hell out as a kid.
Runaway Brain
*twitch*
and a lot of Edward Gorey's illustrations. House of Leaves, "Grounded" episode of Morel Orel, Batman Beyond Return of the Joker flashback, Puddinface, I could go on but that's enough.
Feel the wiggly might of slenderman!
need I say more
His face is just so creepy. And he will not compromise or stop.
I suck at remembering things clearly.
Flash forward to today, where I strongly believe nothing really scary is coming out of movies and shows anymore. "Scary" for me implies staying up at night, most "horror" movies in Hollywood today are just long suspenseful quiet scenes broken by a sudden loud noise. I call them "shockers".
This frightened me. O_o
But looking for that image found me this!
OH GOD! That was another film I refused to watch as a kid.
That scene is pretty damn creepy.
Another one for videogames: Alien 3
I know its based on a horror film, but compared to the other games I had, like Robocop vs Terminator, (loved the "tomato gun"), this game was just really, really damn scary.

It wasn't just the close up of the aliens, (which is incredibly well done), I could get past that, it was the game itself.
It is a really hard game, that fills you with dread.
Those damn aliens can pop out almost anywhere, and they can be hard to kill sometimes, because they can climb walls, squeeze through small spaces.
The game brilliantly conveyed the idea that nowhere was really safe, but you had to look around to free people and get items.
The sound effects and the music just added to it!

Beat me to it.
I still can't watch this particular scene without freaking out.

For some reason, this never scared me the first time I saw it, but then after that, I was scared to play it again. Yeah, I don't get it either. Now I actually think the level is awesome, because it's so unexpected! Though maybe they went a LITTLE bit too far... Pretty cool music though!
THIS level in an obscure little game called Bugdom freaked the hell out of me entirely the first time I played it, and heck, it's still kinda eerie now. So, what part of it scared me? Pretty much the whole level. Yeah, I was a wimp as a kid xD http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=tauElX0xI0g
Mark Twain, Claymation, and Satan

That shit is FUCKED UP with a capital FUCK.
Yep. Me too. Still unnerves me.
This gave me creeps though, I was probably a big boy an' all at the time!
"Beware the Judderman my dear, when the moon is fat."
This was an ad for bloody schnapes!
I'm terrified of that video. I can't watch it.
Okay, had no idea why people thought it was messed up when the music video started.
....Then I found out why. Good bye any possibility of sleep tonight.
Well...guess that's that plan shot. Guess I'll just post some more nightmare fuel.
Chuckie. I never even saw that movie. I didn't even see trailers. Or promo pics. Or ANYTHING. I only heard second, maybe third hand about the rough idea of plot and I was terrified of my dolls. So terrified that I put them up on a high shelf so that I'd hear the crash if they decided to off me some night. Don't know what I'd do then, but whatever.
It occurs to me that this is more a general paranoia than an actual nightmare, but what the hey?
